Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, sorry for scaring you then." Shadow Stephanie apologises, leaving the kitchen.

"How are we supposed to get out?" Artemis asks when Shadow Stephanie returns.

"Hmm..." Shadow Stephanie thinks, before jumping into the ceiling.

 

Nothing.
The Anubis peeks out.
"Tap your foot under the door." They utter.

 

"Thanks!" Artemis says, tapping her foot alongside Shadow Stephanie, who rubs her head.

 

They're whisked up out of the house and onto the desert again.

 

"Well that happened." Shadow Stephanie says.

"Where did Abigail go?" Artemis asks, looking around.

Shadow Stephanie shrugs.

 

There's an Anubis walking towards the group, particularly towards Katie.
"Hey, outsiders! Come here, quick!" The waiter from the Shifting Sands Cafe urges.

 

Artemis and Shadow Stephanie hurry over, Stephanie close enough to just idly walk.

"What's up?" I ask.

 

"Storm's coming. I reserved some tables for you when I heard Katie was coming back. Hurry!" She urges, running off towards the distance.

 

I look back at Katie, and she shrugs. The group chases after the Anubis, though Shadow Stephanie and I have our weapons drawn.

 

The Anubis taps her foot, sinking into the sand.

 

The group follows suit, everyone tapping their feet on the sand.

Before Artemis taps her foot, she looks around to try and see the storm, her vision allowing her to see further than most.

 

The storm seems to have sand-sized glass shards coming through at high speeds...

Inside, there's a weapon rack as the waitress quickly hands out four platters of food to other Anubi sitting at tables.

 

The group heads through, Katie the only one deciding to head to the weapon rack to put her double trident on it.

 

There's a barrier keeping those who don't put their weapons on the rack out of the cafe.
"Oh, um, please put your weapons on the rack. They'll be perfectly safe until you leave and the storm blows over." The waitress says.

 

Shadow Stephanie and I simply desummon our weapons, though Artemis and Stephanie head over to the weapon rack to put their weapons away.

"I, uh, have a lot of weapons on me. How am I supposed to put them all on here?" Stephanie asks.

"I'll help you," Shadow Stephanie says, picking Stephanie up and putting her on the weapon rack instead, "There you go."

"Stephanie!" Stephanie says, annoyed.

 

"There are a few bags on the back. If you've got a bunch of magic items, it'll work just fine." The waitress says before disappearing into the kitchen.

 

Stephanie thinks for a moment, before taking off her cloak, putting it in one of the bags. With her cloak removed, Stephanie's revealed to be wearing a short sleeved black shirt with a light yellow star symbol on it.

The group heads into the cafe, sitting down at the nearest empty table, if one's available.

 

There are two reserved tables for them.
"Can I get you a little something to pass the time?" The waitress asks, handing the group a few menus.

 

"Do you serve glasses of blood?" I ask, reading the menu.

Artemis scans the menu for anything organic, while Stephanie just reads what there is to order, as does Katie and Shadow Stephanie.

 

"N-no, sir." The waitress says, hesitating.

There are a few coffees, teas, and a short list of the condiments for sandwiches; lettuce, tomato, cheese, and a light vegetable oil. There's also wheat, white, and desert grain bread.
