"I can see your logic there. I will follow your advice"

 

"DO NOT. CALL ME. FLOWER POWER!" Artemis screams, the ground falling away below her feet.

Artemis raises her hand, and begins sucking the life from Nyre at an alarmingly fast rate.

 

"Ok?.. You can talk?"

 

"While we all wield extreme power, we can take comparatively little in return. Take my daughter, she can grant other's power they never previously could dream of, but she catches a spark and she's done for."

Artemis grows weaker at an alarmingly fast rate.
"Heh, my lifeforce burns you from the inside out... You should stick to guarding life!"

"Tahk."
It's trying to mimic your speech.

 

"I mean Ihra and the others. If there were more of these things, that would definitely be a problem we couldn't solve for a while."

 

"Oh. Whew... Alright. I'll be right behind you, then. I hope she's alright."

 

Artemis hisses, lowering her hand. She speeds over to Nyre, holding her Scythe ready. The ground withers away and crumbles in her wake.

Artemis begins rapidly slicing at Nyre with Gaia's Scythe, her eyes turning to an even darker green.

 

I continue flying in the same direction.

 

I summon a book about dragons, searching up whether dragons can talk.

 

"Aaaand... Courtesy of Vesius..."
The scratches on his armor vanish, and Artemis feels the exact pattern of swings she dealt to Nyre.
"A little taste of your own so-called power. How does it feel?"

She follows.
"So, is Daras going to be okay if we keep leaving him alone?"

The book says they can learn human speech, but normally communicate via growls, grunts, and other noises.

 

"Yes, he should. What would you think Hythania?"
"Hopefully he will. While some of his previous actions were justified, others weren't. I think he will start to feel guilty about what he has done. Everyone does once they do something. Except it takes a long time for it to happen to immortals."
Idala says, "Yes, father is going to be fine. He isn't going to show himself yet though."

 

Artemis hisses as the strikes hit her, yet they're instantly healed.

I appear next to Nyre, yet Shadow Katana remains sheathed.

"Yo dude, so you like gambling, competitions, all that kinda crud? So hear me out," I say, "I flip a coin and roll a 6 sided dice, I score a heads on the coin and a 1 on the dice, you leave us alone. I either don't score a heads or get something other than 1, you get to have Ihra all to yourself for whatever you want with her. Sound good?"

I summon a gold coin and a 6 sided dice in my hand, and show them to Nyre. The coin has both a heads and a tails, and the dice has pips marking 1 to 6.

Artemis hisses at Nyre and I.

 

"Then I guess there's nothing more to ask. Do you think they moved from the coast?"

"Yeah, sure. One thing, though. If you're gonna use a trick coin or dice, hide it better next time. If I'm not cheating, you ought to play fair too."

 

"What? Why would I do that? See, these things are genuine!" I say.

I de-summon the dice and coin, replacing them with different ones.

I roll the 1-Pip dice and flip the double-headed coin. They (obviously) come up favourably.

"However, while you were smart to think I might use trick coins and dice, I never said I would be using the ones I showed you. "I flip a coin and roll a six sided dice." I never said they would be normal."

"Oh, look at that! It seems I've won! Well, you better get going then! Toodles!" I say, pretending to be surprised by the turnout.

 

"Now, I don't like a cheater, but..."
He opens his palm, revealing the coin and dice from earlier. The result is also favorable.
"...You still won fairly. Of course, I make exceptions for dirty backhanders..."
You find yoursef in a chokehold.

 

"Well, Ihra went with us to the Shrouded Peaks. Who knows where she is now."

 

"Woah, hold on... something's eating the rubble of the mountains...

...is this thing native to the Darklands too?"

 

"Heh-ack-heh! I'm not going to-ack-risk Ihra's life like that. You ever-ack-been to Las Vegas? They're so-ack-weighted to you losing!" I manage to say.

Artemis glares at Nyre.

 

"It'll stop hurting in-"
A dagger surrounded in light magic cuts deep into your back.
"...whenever you pass out or get healed."

 

I writhe in pain as the dagger cuts through my essence.

Artemis slices the arm holding me as Abigail swoops down and grabs me.

"You probably shouldn't have hung around him for that long." She says, flying away from Nyre.

"Th-thanks." I say, pulling the dagger from my back.

"Oosh, that's a nasty dagger. That thing's basically light itself." Abigail says, reading information on the dagger with her visor.
