Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"In what, your reality?" They sneer. "It doesn't even shoot. It's not a gun."

 

"What is it then?" Abigail asks.

 

"Get your ass to Xlentia's chambers. Those who know where her vault is need their memories cleaned." They say, serious.

 

"How about no?" Abigial asks.

 

"How about you get your convict ass in there before I drag you in unconscious?" They barks.

 

Abigail unleashes a massive burst of fire she'd been charging up as she was speaking to the guard, aiming it directly at the guard.

 

The burst is absorbed by the faux rifle, the guard unflinching.
"It's a vaccuum."

Xlentia comes up behind Abigail and stomps the ground behind her.
"What's the fuss?"
"Miss Bitchypants won't go for a memorywipe."
"Don't call her that, and she's fine."
"Mistress, she is a convict by every bit of the-"
"And I pardoned her. If she gives you more sass, then I'm letting you do what you want to her, like the researchers. But for now, all you need to know is that she's allowed in." Xlentia snaps.

 

"What do you mean by 'like the researchers'?" Abigail asks, suspicious and slightly nervous.

 

"If you give them hell, they're allowed to use whatever chems or tools they have on hand to stop you. Lethal force included. Don't worry, that just goes for anyone and everyone that gets out of hand. You just seem to be a special case, hon. I wonder if you're as popular on Earth as you are among my servants?" Xlentia says, head in clouds as she walks off.

"Mistress, that's not a good th... are you even... ugh, why do I even bother?" The guard shouts, stammers, then grumbles.

 

"Hmm..." I comment, before teleporting back to the ruins.

 

"I'm kind of popular." Abigail says happily, skipping past the guard into Xlentia's vault.

 

Everyone's still working as they had been.

A hundred guards, all cloaked and armed with experimental weapons guard the door, letting Abigail in to the viewing area that runs along the floor of the vault.

 

Abigail looks around the vault, curious.

 

It seems to be filled with solid gold and diamonds.

 

"Whoa..." Abigail says, looking at the gold and diamonds.

"I bet a Shadow could steal these. Like, a super stealthy one." Abigail comments, looking at some of the diamonds.

 

"I'd like to see them try." A guard says from above Abigail.
...and by guard, we apparently mean a mechanical, weaponized chimera.

 

"You seriously don't know how stealthy they can be. Do you know if there's a Shadow inside of you right now?" Abigail asks.

 

"There is in fact no shadow inside me. There cannot be anything inside me. I am a weapon." It says. "I have been made for war. I am equipped with a disruption field that destabilizes every life signature in contact with me."

 

"You must be fun at parties..." Abigail says flatly, before walking off to observe some more of the vault.

 

"What's a party?" The mech inquires, following Abigail.
