Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I nod, and then fly out try to find the den of the baby dragon again.

 

"I would erase you right the hell now!"

"Aj... who's hugging me?" Ihra asks, hugging Katie back.


Xlentia moves a claw to a tablet.
"Fucking hell... Aj is NOT gonna cut up my heart!"

It's not hard. There's an ashen clearing in front of it.

 

I fly down and look around for the baby dragon.

 

It's asleep in its cave, blissfully unaware of your presence.

 

"Alright," I say, calm, "What if I were to replace Ihra while your wounds healed?"

"I think it's Katie. She's the main reason I'm here right now," I say to Ihra, "We were planning on giving Xlentia enough power to resurrect you through by both a giant mage crystal and some artefacts that apparently hold a lot of power. Though, if you're actually here, I don't know how that would work."


"What's he doing? And what are you going to do?" Shadow Stephanie asks, curious.

 

"Now where would the mother dragon be?" I ask, searching around the cave.

 

"That's not how this shit works!"

"Oh... um... then why do you have Shadow Katana out?"


"Considering cutting my heart out!"

There is no mother dragon.

 

"Then how does it work?" I ask, "How would I got about extracting Ihra from your heart?"

"Alternative method." I say.


"Wow, that's pretty brutal." Shadow Stephanie says, though sounding impressed.

 

"Ancient rituals and crap! Same way she went in!"


"Don't compliment him if it's gonna get him killed."

 

"Alright," I say, sighing, "Understood."

"I'm sorry, Ihra..." I say, "You're going to be stuck in here for a bit longer."


"Honestly, killing him is probably a bad idea for you," Shadow Stephanie says, "The amount of times he's gone back or forward in time will probably cause a time paradox if he's killed."

 

"Promise me you'll come back?"


"I've wiped paradoxes before. If they follow him, they go too."

 

"I promise, Ihra. I don't know how frequently I'll be able to visit you, but I will visit you again." I say, before leaving Ihra's body and empowering Katie.

"Let's go, Katie. Thanks for helping me get here." I say to Katie.

"No problem, Aj!" Katie says happily, "It was nice seeing Ihra again, even if she's sort of in bad shape."

Katie lets herself get taken by Xlentia's bloodflow again.

"I'm sorry for hurting you, Xlentia. I'll do anything I can to make it up to you, though." I say to Xlentia.


"Your choice," Shadow Stephanie says, shrugging, "Just...don't erase me if and when I go to visit Ihra. I'm not as insane as Aj is."

 

Ihra waves weakly.

"I might call that your favor. Unless you pretty up the armor without me footing the costs."


"That depends on your actions. I'm a bit impartial to you, though."

 

Katie, and by extension myself, wave back.

"The original plan was to pay for everything. I've paid for your armour to be made, why would I make you pay for extra stuff?" I ask, "Like seriously, it's like getting someone to buy lemonade and then making them pay for the cup."

Katie realises something as she's pushed around by Xlentia's bloodflow.

"Xlentia, how to I get out of you?" Katie asks.


"I was just going to do what Aj did. Use Katie to go and see Ihra." Shadow Stephanie explains.

 

"Katie... shove yourself downwards now."

"Did you ever have earth guardians decompress the gold? You realize you may be in debt if you don't. This is a planet's worth of metal on me."


"Okay, then."

 

Katie forces herself downwards.

"Why am I in debt?" I ask, confused.


"It's kind of awkward how we'll need you to eat us whenever we want to go see Ihra." Shadow Stephanie comments.

 

Katie finds herself sneezed out moments after.

"You paid people to put a planet on me."


"You can just use telepathy you know... I can connect you to her."

 

Katie splats on the ground in a puddle of blood, before reforming as I appear next to her.

"Yeah, and I still have money, so I'm not in debt." I say.


"Maybe in the future, but...I kind of want to give Ihra a hug. I do miss her." Shadow Stephanie says.

"How was it?" Shadow Stephanie asks Katie.

"Honestly, kinda fun!" Katie says happily, "Just letting myself be pushed around Xlentia's veins is fun and relaxing, in a weird way."

"The only way we're getting Ihra out is with a ton of magic, though." I say.

 

"Nevermind. Just... I dunno how you bought a planet. To put on me."


"Alright, alright. You can go too, if Katie permits."

 

"Hey Katie...would you mind taking me to see Ihra?" Shadow Stephanie asks, "You don't have to if you don't want to."

"Sure! Let's go again!" Katie says enthusiastically.

"Really? You're fine with having to be eaten again?" Shadow Stephanie asks, a little concerned about Katie's enthusiasm.

"Well, nothing can kill me in Xlentia's body, and it's fun being pushed around in her veins, so yeah!" Katie says happily.

Shadow Stephanie looks at Xlentia and shrugs.

"You might want to change back to water, Katie. I'm sure Xlentia doesn't want to taste her own blood." I say, summoning a blue crystal in my hand and offering it to Katie.

Katie takes the crystal, Xlentia's blood spilling out of her as the crystal replaces it with pure water.

"Ok, I'm ready." Katie says, smiling.
