Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Sivius tries to follow a golem down the platform, uneasy.

 

The platform isn't big enough to hold both Sivius and a golem, however stepping onto an empty platform seems to work fine, the platform slowly starting to descend.

After the platform above closes over, everything goes dark. Sivius feels the platform below him begin to travel very quickly downward for quite a while before it begins to slow down and stop, light pouring in from a lower room. Sivius is pushed out of the alcove, making room for the golem above him as various other golems make their way through a magic field at the other end of the room, their chest crystals reacting to it too.

 

Sivius tries touching the field.

 

Sivius can put his hand through the field, however it immediately reacts.

"Foreign entity detected. Quarantining..." A voice says as a crystal sphere floats out of a tunnel, flying close to Sivius before surrounding him in a bubble that supresses his magic. Sivius can't seem to cast spells outside the bubble, nor teleport, and the bubble itself seems quite sturdy. Sivius is lifted off the ground in the bubble and taken through the tunnel.

 

Sivius just keeps silent, seemingly unperturbed.

 

Sivius is taken through the tunnel before being dropped into a white room, containing a monitor on the front wall which turns on.

"Hii-ya! You don't need to panic, you're not in any danger! We just detected you're not from here and wanted to make sure you're safe, o-kay?" A girl with vibrant, long, light blue hair in pigtails and large eyes says on the monitor ecstatically, quite active in her movements as she talks, "If you could just tell me who you are and a bit about yourself, that'd be perfect!"

 

"I am Sivius, a wandering swordsman. I heard the goddess of magic was concerned about my presence and the power of my blades, so I wanted to reassure that she has nothing to fear." He says, showing his blades' paradoxium edges.

 

"Ooh! I heard about you Sivius! You're super cool and kawaii!" The girl says happily, "I shall inform Praecantatia you're here!"

The girl happily runs off of the monitor's view, leaving the room quiet.

 

Sivius rolls his eyes, remaining otherwise still and silent.

 

After a short while, the walls open up as the girl runs back onto the monitor. Two halves of a capsule seal around Sivius, the ceiling of the room opening up to reveal a tube which begins to suck up the capsule.

"Byeee!" The girl says, waving with a smile as Sivius' capsule is sucked up into the tube and he's transported through a winding network of tubes.

 

Sivius keeps himself upright and does nothing else.

 

Eventually, the capsule is deposited at what appears to be a large desk, the capsule itself falling out of the tube. A large hand eventually pushes a couple of books out of the way and picks up the tube between it's thumb and index finger, holding it up to the violet eyes of the owner of the hand.

"Hello there, Sivius." A gigantic, young woman says, sitting at her desk as she looks at Sivius in his capsule.

 

"Hi. May I lead with asking why my presence concerns you?" He asks, wasting no time beating around the bush.

 

"Because of the power you wield. Such amounts of power threaten the stability of our universe, especially when in the wrong hands." Praecantatia says, idly turning Sivius' capsule to look him over.

 

"What test do you have to gauge whether or not you should trust me?" He asks, keeping himself upright in his capsule.

 

"I would think an appropriate way to gain my trust would be to show me that you do not wish to use your power for malicious acts. Perhaps you could help me, I could always use another pair of hands." Praecantatia says, smiling ominously.

 

"It depends on what you seek. Regardless, I cannot answer to that." He says honestly.

 

Praecantatia puts Sivius' capsule down, taking one of her large books and flipping through it's pages. She eventually puts the book down on her desk, open, picking Sivius' capsule back up and holding it above the book. The page seems to detail a root of some kind, various drawings of it beside lengthy descriptions.

"If you wish to help me, you may want to seek out this root. It is very important for research on my potions, and very rare. You should be able to notice it by it's curled, dark green, star-shaped leaves," Praecantatia explains, "I seem to have also misplaced my sickle, so if you find that for me, I'd greatly appreciate it."

 

Sivius draws both blades, scans them, then sheathes them again.
"I cannot help with the root, but your sickle is on one of the outer islands in some brush. If you trace my path in, you'll see where I went off to the side."

 

"Why are you unable to help with the root?" Praecantatia asks.
