Sivius lets it fill, keeping perfectly still.


"Just making sure." Xlentia reassures.

 

"So, may you please tell me your name?"

 

The flower soon fills completely, yet Sivius finds no issues with breathing in the liquid. Sivius' mind clears, before his life sense strengthens. He feels the essence of the flower surrounding him, and the flowers in the clearing. His sense slowly expands, eventually covering the forest and its inhabitants, then the surrounding civilisations, and everyone living in it. After his stronger sensing ability expands far enough, Sivius feels a connection form with a massive source of life, connected to everything else.

"Hello, Sivius." Gaia's voice says calmly in Sivius' mind, her voice clear enough to sound like she's standing directly in front of him.

 

"Are you the goddess Gaia? If so, I was hoping to reach out to you in order to assure you I mean no harm to your reality. I fell in love with the Queen of Shadows."

"Yours first." She says, finally turning away from her work and towards you.

 

"Dominus Terrae, Destroyer of Worlds, God of Destruction, and King of Perniciosa." I say, offering a handshake.

 

She accepts the handshake.
"Merla. Nice to meet you at a more reasonable hour."

 

"Crystal's here. He came with me when a bird told us that Sivius was with you."

 

"I thought he ran off back on the island? Whatever. If you're ready, we can head back."

 

"I'm certainly ready."

 

"Crystal?" Xlentia asks, not able to bend her neck quite far enough back after sleeping to see everything on her back.

 

"Hey!"
Crystal says, from her back.

 

"I am Gaia, yes. Can you truthfully say that you do not have any evil or hostile intention here?" Gaia asks.

 

"So, exactly what do you do here? Assuming from your response last night, you study these unusual tribesmen. Am I correct?"

 

"A bit quieter than usual? Well, at least you're here. You want to go back to that desert or just rendezvous at my palace?"

"I can and I will. I am here on terms of spending time with a love interest, and I figured it would help to ease the gods' suspicions about me so we could spend our days uninterrupted."

"Yes. The Cataclysm screwed up their minds. Since I gave up on trying to help them, I've just used the blood they spell for my magic studies."

 

"And what may be all these items out here for?"

 

"Let's go back to your palace! I kinda wanna see if Linoa's there."
Crystal decides after a bit of thinking.

 

"The weekly blood run. Helps me get all the stuff that seeped into the ground."

"Sure." She says, opening a portal to her chambers.

 

"I see." I reply, "Do you happen to have any skill in reforming bones from dust?"

 

"A bit. I'd like a reason to do it, though."

 

"You speak the truth. I believe you," Gaia says after a pause, "Is that all you wish to say?"
