"That mentality got Vesius in trouble, but I respected it. I had hoped to find others with it, and I believe you have it. Plus, perhaps your journey may have relevance in mine."

 

Shadow Stephanie sighs.

"Sorry for calling you a coward earlier. I was just...angry about nothing." Shadow Stephanie apologises.

 

"Don't apologize for that." He says. "I try to keep an offsetting demeanor to deter people from dragging me into doing thing I don't believe in."

 

"Hm."
"So, you're Sivius?"
Crystal asks, confirming.

 

"Ok, I take it back. I did mean to call you a coward." Shadow Stephanie says, though her tone playful.

 

He turns arounds.
"Yes."

He grins.
"Good job on not shooting yourself in the foot."

 

"Anytime, cowboy." Shadow Stephanie says, winking.

 

Sivius seems to be giving his attention to Thirteen and Crystal.

 

Shadow Stephanie heads over to Abigail.

"I don't think I can do better. He's pretty perfect." Shadow Stephanie says, a little lovestruck.

"Oh, please. He gave me a paper cut and called it a duel. That's not a duel, where's the fun? It's like he didn't even want to fight me." Abigail says, annoyed.

"Yeah, but he's so independent and caring. Have you seen his cool cloak and horns? They're so fitting!" Shadow Stephanie says, infatuation evident.

"Please don't let him change you, Stephanie. You meet a guy you like and think you have a chance with and you turn to...mush." Abigail says flatly.

"Hey, I'm not letting him change me, Abigail. I'm not some kind of replacement clone of myself with different emotions. I'm still me. It's just...ugh, seeing Aj and Artemis together...it's kind of made me jealous. They're together and I'm alone. I mean, I've been alone for ages, but...I finally have a chance with a cute guy!" Shadow Stephanie explains.

"Don't let Artemis and Aj get to you, Stephanie. They're off making out 24/7, you're better than them. You're a Shadow Queen." Abigail says, trying to boost Shadow Stephanie's morale.

"I know, but...just look at him." Shadow Stephanie says, looking at Sivius and smiling.

Abigail sighs, facepalming.

 

"Hey, you still haven't realized I cut you down your spine." Sivius adds, mildly annoyed.

 

"So... do we still have to convince you to join us?"
Crystal asks awkwardly.

 

"Not if you're with Stephanie."

 

"Oh! She's already convinced you?"
While Crystal's talking, I go off a bit to search for the Cornae with the map.

 

"Yes, she has."

The Cornae just seems to be staring in disbelief at what he's seeing.

 

"Cool!"
Crystal suddenly remembers something.
"Oh yeah! You don't know who I am! My name's Crystal, nice to meet ya!"
Crystal doesn't offer much more than a smile.

"He's here. Care to say anything?"
I ask the Cornae.

 

"That I could've guessed. Nice to meet you too, I suppose."

The Cornae keeps silent.

 

"...So, what kinda stuff can you do?"
Crystal asks, excited.

"What? Scared of something?"
I ask, curious.

 

"I'm an undefeated duelist, both for blood duels, and, obviously, for duels to the death. My blades seem to have some special material on the edge, and it's... unnatural, to say the least. I've cut through reality itself, and have explored others a bit, but only this reality calls to my blades. I'm fortunate they haven't disposed of me yet as they had my predecessors."

"His blades share the same dark power that those who hunted us had."

 

Crystal thinks for a bit.
"Who were they?"

"Haunted you? As in, whom?"

 

"It doesn't matter." He says. "It never has, and at my rate, it never will."

"The Bicorns. They want to destroy this reality, start clean. His rapier holds the same dark power their lone survivor has."
