Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I won." Sivius says, pointing to Abigail's neck.

There's a tiny cut, barely piercing the skin, but enough to let out a few drops of blood.

 

"I thought you meant until one of us got wounded. Not until one of us got a paper cut." Abigail says, annoyed.

 

"I mean, I kinda cut your shirt on your back. You just cauterized the wound, so there's dried blood on your shirt." He says.

 

"Ugh. Whatever." Abigail says, sitting down, annoyed.

 

Sivius turns to Shadow Stephanie.
"You seemed depressed after I said I don't like royalty. However, you still took another chance at my heart after you went home flustered. So, I figured I'd make an exception. From now on, I'll throw that stereotype of mine out unless you go out of your way to make me feel that way about you." He offers. "Deal?"

 

"Deal," Shadow Stephanie says, lightening up a little, "You know, I'm only royalty by name. I don't really do my job much, nor does the king. We just host events sometimes, and maybe do paperwork. We've set up a system where we don't really need to be there so we can live normal lives."

"The reason I was depressed is because, well, I'm labelled as royalty. I thought you wouldn't bother to give me a chance just because I'm called a queen, even though I'm really just a face for people to look up to." Shadow Stephanie says after a pause, seeming sadder.

 

"I didn't know until your response. Thank you for admitting your title. I respect that you've managed to become little more than a figurehead. I'm just sick of kings and queens asking me to obey like I'm their subject. I only serve these blades."

 

"Why would I ask you to obey me? I want to work alongside you, not have you work for me. Abigail doesn't work for me, the other members of the group don't work for me. The only people that work for me are those in the palace, and they worked for the old king and queen too." Shadow Stephanie explains, sounding depressed.

 

Sivius nods, then smiles.
"Then consider me as an ally rejoining the war I ran from." He says, more relaxed.

 

Shadow Stephanie smiles slightly at Sivius, looking less depressed.

"Thanks. I will." Shadow Stephanie says with a lighter tone.

"Well, then! It seems you've managed to find him first."
I say to Shadow Stephanie, walking up with Crystal behind me.

 

"Wasn't too hard." Shadow Stephanie says modestly.

 

"Impressive, then."
I admit.

 

"Thanks." Shadow Stephanie says, smiling, her mood seeming to lighten.

"So, is everything okay between you and Abigail?"
I ask Sivius.

 

"I asked you to prove you didn't need me, and you did. Nobody ever comes even remotely close to figuring it out."

"Yes."

 

"You mean you just didn't want to work for someone?" Shadow Stephanie asks flatly.

 

"Was it just a duel for fun?"
I continue to inquire.

 

"I refuse to work with those who cannot pick themselves up if they fell. You fell, twice in front of me, yet you stayed true to your friend and never just ditched them. I respect that."

"Unclear. Doubtful."

 

"I wouldn't just ditch Abigail. She's one of my best friends. If I don't intend to come back here, I'm going to make sure Abigail can get home." Shadow Stephanie explains, supportive of Sivius' moral.

Abigail smiles at Shadow Stephanie, overhearing the conversation.
