Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You are to survey this ruined kingdom, and see if it is able to be restored as a colony in this realm. See if the damage is not too severe, and see if the land is suitable for what can possibly be large town. If all checks out, you are to begin restoring the ruins at my command. You are free to request more resources from Perniciosa but do not be wasteful."

 

"Yes, sire. I beg your forgiveness for my shortcomings, sire." He asks, still kneeling but looking eager to get to work.

 

"You are forgiven as long as you swear to do your work with utmost commitment."

 

"I will restate that oath as many times as you require." They nod.

 

"Very good. Dismissed." I say, motioning him.

 

He stands up and salutes before hastily joining the others.

Hours later, you find Allen approaching you.
"Hey, Mister Terrae? Um... could you maybe fix some of the broken tools I found? I recognize them as mine, but it seems a lot of time has passed, and I couldn't find any that were in good condition. I only grew a small garden, but if you can also find some of the old king's writings, I could translate them for you, hopefully. They should include techniques we used to use... whenever it is my people still lived."

 

"May I see them to see how severe their condition is?" I ask.
I establish a telepathic communication with the head of the survey corps.
"Have you found any old texts?"

 

"Sure, they're in my house over here, if you wouldn't mind following me? This resurrection has left me a bit weak, but I'm starting to get my memory back, so I can roughly draw how they look like in the sand." Allen says.

"Yes, we have. There are especially a notable lot of stone tablets with etchings in them in what seems to be a palace. We found a mangled skeleton with a damaged crown, laying near a throne. Should we bring them back or work on dusting them and simply drawing the etchings to preserve what we can?"

 

I follow Allen.

"Make the area around the mangled skeleton off limits and dust and draw the etchings. I have a translator."

 

In retrospect, he's probably so overcome by his revival, that both of you have overlooked the fact he is very depleted of food and water. His crippled and slow walk brings the thought to your mind.

"As you wish, your majesty. It will be done."

 

Abigail focuses, before slamming her hands onto the armour, sending waves of heat all over it, melting the ice. Fire licks upward from under her helmet where her hair once was as her eyes glow a bright, fiery orange.

 

"Actually, have you any wish for food and water? You look incredibly crippled."

 

This seems to startle her.
"T-thanks. Uhm... is there any way you can maintain this with less power so I don't refreeze? Aj probably didn't factor this in to this scrap's construction."

Allen, surprised, turns around.
"Yes, very much so... I-I just saw how everyone else treated you... a peasant like me would have no business asking anything from a king."

 

"This is the minimum amount of power it takes for you to not freeze." Abigail says, power in her voice.

 

Xlentia seems concerned.
"Shadow lady, could you empower her so she doesn't pass out by the time we get there? It's gonna be an hour or two..."

 

"Stephanie." Shadow Stephanie says flatly, before empowering Abigail. Xlentia feels a surge of heat, before dark flames occasionally spark up and fizzle out on her armour. Abigail's flame hair becomes similar in appearance to the dark flames, her glowing eyes becoming a darker shade of orange.

 

"Right, sorry Shadow Stephanie." Xlentia sighs.

An hourish later, you see the planet in question.
"Hey, solid surface!" Xlentia says, slowing down as she enters orbit.
"Uhm... one question. Is this armor built to resist the burning of landing on a planet?"

 

"It should be heat resistant," Shadow Stephanie says through Abigail, "I doubt Aj would create something to protect you from mind control, only to have it be easily breakable."

 

"Let's hope it's this heat resistant..." Xlentia says, nose diving into orbit as her entire body outside the distortion is burning white hot.

Pulling up doesn't help the intensity of the heat on the armor much. It goes through about four minutes of extreme heat.

 

The armour seems to be fairly resistant to the heat, Abigail even crawling out toward the edge of the distortion to put her hand on the white hot metal, seeming to take pleasure in the extreme heat.
