Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Ok, how do I keep her attention?" I ask, "Are you going to be giving me lines to choose from?"

 

"No, unless you telepathically request them. In which case, I'll give you two lines from previous conversations that will help either appease her or get her attention. You then can use one, modify it, or ignore them."
Pause.
"Remember, this blocks her telepathy. You can let us know if things are going poorly in case evac is necessary."

 

"I could always just reverse the signals, so instead of distorting incoming telepathic and mind control attempts to break them, Xlentia's mind itself becomes distorted." I say.

 

"That's dangerous. It would make her even more vulnerable, and shove her towards irreversible insanity." Emerald warns.

 

"Ugh, fine," I say, "Just tell me what to say or how to act and I'll follow those."

 

"I'll see how she reacts to your introduction and initial explanation. From there, I'll do my best to send phrases to correct any satisfaction or focus losses."

 

"Alright, understood. Slam the armour on and try to not make her mad." I say.

 

"Bingo." Emerald nods.

 

"Well, at the rate of production, the armour should be finished in two days. I guess I'll see you then." I say.

 

Emerald nods.
"I'll let up on keeping her stable. If she goes from crazy to stable with the armor, she'll be easier to convince."

 

"The armour should help her think, since it stops all telepathic and mind control abilities, both to and from her, as well as any other abilities that affect the mind." I explain.

 

"That's what I'm hoping. Now, I'll see you in two days and hopefully we'll avoid disaster."

 

"See you in two days." I say dismissively.

Emerald, keeping Xlentia's eyes covered, buys the engineers enough time to get in position to shove the armor on Xlentia all at once, Emerald making her stand up, still dazed.

"Ready?" She asks you, nervous.

 

"Ready." I say, standing in front of Xlentia.

A large team of Earth Guradians hover the armour in place above Xlentia's entire body and head, waiting for my command.

"Now!" I shout. The earth guardians slam the armour onto Xlentia, the pieces connecting and sealing together as the large crystals patterning the armour begin to glow, clearing Xlentia's mind.

 

Xlentia crumples to the ground, immediately launches back up on her feet and lets out a roar.
"WHO DID THIS?! EMERALD, GET IT OFF! EMERALD, WHERE ARE YOU?!" She roars, audible to the Shadow Palace guards through the library portal.

She turns and tries to stomp the first earth guardian she sees, clearly blinded by rage.

 

I increase my size by quite a bit so I'm more easily visible to Xlentia, before bowing down.

"Oh my darling Xlentia! Thank goodness you're conscious again! I was so worried my plan was going to fail, my love!" I say, as if praying to Xlentia, "I am so sorry I had to shock you like this, my darling Xlentia, I am but a pawn and you are my queen! I only live to serve your every wish, my love! For I see your beauty now, and I am deeply in love! I was foolish to think Artemis was the one for me, for you are clearly the only being powerful enough to be worthy of my appreciation and endearment! I only wish for you to be happy, and this was the only way I could see to make you!"

 

The two bars appear. Attention is full, but satisfaction is low.
"What plan? This armor is enchanted - and if I find out you're trying to control me, you're going to wish it worked." She growls.

 

"My darling Xlentia, the enchantments are there to help you! I saw that bastard, the hive master, trying to mind control you, take you away from me, ruin our relationship! I cannot stand that wretch of a being, for he does not know how to treat such an elegant and divine lady such as yourself. I used every resource I had to forge you a fine set of armour that would remove the hive master's ability to control you, so we may be happy together!" I say, getting a little choked up and emotional, "I cannot believe someone as horrible as him would try to steal your free will away from you. You are so powerful, you command so much respect and awe, and he has the guts to try and treat you in such a horrible way!?"

 

She grins, seeming pleased. However, the satisfaction bar drops a tiny bit.
"I appreciate the gesture, but it's not out of love. You're still with Artemis, which means you get to tell me why this stuff's worth not taking off."
