Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"He shall receive both messages as soon as he returns." The guard says.

 

"They need to be relayed within two days. Failure may result in an insane, mindless Xlentia rampaging through this palace and city." Emerald says.

 

"His highness is due to return this evening." The guard clarifies.

 

"Just making sure. Thank you." Emerald says, dropping a gold coin.
"For your troubles, if permitted." She says before teleporting back to the Void.

 

The guard picks up the gold coin, putting it in his pocket before standing guard; following his duty.

 

Emerald waits a few hours, expecting you soon after the wait.

 

Nobody comes to see her, though by timing I should have returned to the Shadow Palace.

 

Emerald heads back to the Shadow Palace.
"King still busy?"

 

"He has returned and received the messages." The guard says.

 

"Can I either meet with him or can you have him discuss the situation with Eve?"

 

"Situation?" The guard asks.

 

"Eve will know. I spoke with her."

 

"I'll have someone arrange a meeting between you and the king, then." The guard says, heading into the Shadow Palace.

 

Emerald waits, tomes still with her.

 

A long while later, the guard returns.

"You have a meeting with his highness in an hour." The guard says.

 

Emerald nods.
"I'll try to make it. If I'm not outside the throne room precisely on time, something's wrong with Xlentia and I'll either be late or need his help settling her down." She says, disappearing.

 

The guard nods, going back to his duty.

 

An hour later, Emerald is outside the throne room, still very much armed with tomes.
"Tell the king I'm coming in armed or he's coming out to me." She says to the guards, very much distracted.

 

The guards open the doors for Emerald, not giving a response. Eve can be seen shifting about nervously inside, giving Emerald a worried look as she sees her.

 

Emerald pays little attention, entering with her tomes.
"Hello, Eve." She says, still distracted before cringing and opening the rest of her tomes.
