Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

They look at each other, concerned.
"U-understood, sir."

The crowd parts as you walk towards the (newly made) exit.

Riihs waits, unmoving, a few yards out.

You can see what looks like a dragon descending in the distance. True sight, before it wears off, reveals five beings near the dragon, one of which is carrying a staff.

"I told her caretaker not to come too close of places they find suspicious. If you want to meet her, I reckon we head out a ways."

"He's a freakin' idiot!" Ihra laughs.
"Ihra! Well... she's right."

 

"Very well. You lead the way, Riihs. However, I forgot to mention that I can't fly."

 

"I was guessing. I'd be worried if you can't walk. Come on; if you have any questions, I'll see if the answer's short enough to give before we get there. When we get to her, go easy on her... she doesn't deserve to be in the situation she's in."

He starts walking towards the dragon.

 

I chuckle, and then continue walking slightly behind him. "You can count on that, knight's honor."

 

He chuckles.
"The last honor I've seen that's gone my way is when a queen suggested my wife and I participate in marriage. That was millennia ago..."
He shakes his head.
"Forgive me. Memories eat away at my sanity."

 

"Its fine. There's nothing wrong with reminiscing a little bit."

 

"Heh... sometimes."
The dragon's wings and tail are visible. The rider with the staff points it at you two.
"That's her. Her caretaker's name is Rineth. I wouldn't recommend discussing harm coming to my daughter with him around."
He increases his pace slightly.

 

"Very well." I try to keep up with him.

 

It lands. A draconian that's a good foot smaller than you (at least) jumps off and runs towards Riihs.
"I told you I can hold my own!"
"You don't appear alone."
"Well... I'm alive?"
"You don't need to prove anything to me, Ihra."
Ihra hugs his lower chest, and Riihs bends down to pat her on the back.

Her horns are tiny compared to his; they're more like little stubs.

 

I stay silent, but examine the rider with the staff.

 

Ihra has it.

The dragon steps towards the two a bit.
"Good to see you in one piece. It's been a rough week for her."
"Thanks again, Rineth. Sorry we're still calling you for things still..."
"I'm glad I can still serve."

Ihra sits on the ground, and plants start growing around her. (She then proceeds to roll around in them)
"Heh, she's still full of energy, I see."
"That or asleep. She's had her fair share of naps lately."

She still has an egg horn. It looks a bit ridiculous.

 

You feel a tap on your shoulder, but upon turning around, you see no one. You see movement in the corner of your eye, and I'm now standing in front of you, hand extended (like, handshake).

"I've found these introductions quite enjoyable, I forget why I despised them so." I say offhandedly.

 

I shake your hand. "Greetings, I am Sir Robert of Greenhill Stronghold, ex-captain. I believe you are the caretaker that Riihs mentioned"

I quickly steal an ability from Riihs.

 

You steal a... well, when you use it, you shock yourself. (As in with electricity)
He looks at you, concerned.
"I don't know much magic... Unless you want to electrocute myself, I suggest you be more careful before you try that again."
"Who is this?"
"I'll leave your introductions to you."
"Very well."

The dragon steps towards you. It towers over you, and everything about it is pitch black; his eyes radiate a small dark fog of sorts.
"I am Rineth, a Voidwalker tasked with protecting young Ihra. Might I ask your name?"

Ihra is blissfully unaware of the introductions.

 

"Good day Rineth. I am Sir Robert of Greenhill Stronghold, ex-captain. Pleasure to meet you." I then stick out my hand for a handshake, then realize that I am trying to shake hands with a massive dragon, so I put my hand back. "Just uhm, imagine I'm shaking hands with you."

 

"In past days, it wouldn't be quite so awkward, but I suppose I've only got what I'm given."
He drags Ihra back to him with his tail.
"Stay near here for now, Ihra."
"But there's... like... a castle thing!"
"Definitely stay away from that, Ihra."

"Trust me," Riihs whispers, "don't let her in. Especially if she thinks it's a castle."

 

Grinning, I twist the light about Ihra so the 'castle' seems to be in the direction opposite where it actually is.

 

...and she chases it.
Rineth glances at you and chuckles, holding Ihra back regardless.

 

I whisper back to Riihs "Very well."

 

"I'd introduce you to her, but I don't think she's... quite to your liking. At all."
Rineth seats her on his back, and she finally takes notice of you.
"Oh, hi!"
She slides off Rineth, looking at you.
"Good luck." Riihs whispers.
