Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The soldiers look at him with mixed emotions as he flies towards you.
"Is there a complication?" He looks at you with slight curiosity and uneasiness.

 

I whisper to Riihs, "Riihs, I need your opinion on this. I'm attempting to get the both of them to be co-captains, but then one of them pointed out something that sounds all too familiar to your history. The two of them might fall into...a power struggle...I need your opinion Riihs, I myself cannot look at the bigger picture like you can." I whisper as quiet as possible to Riihs "I'm also sorry that I kind of borrowed one of your abilities."

 

"Don't apologize. Every decision is a war in and of itself."
He looks at the two.
"I cannot see the bigger picture in your situation... I only know what I know because I retain the memories of my ancestors. I say let them see how it goes... it takes years for things like that to culminate."

 

I nod at Riihs. "Very well. Now let me get on with the ceremony. This won't take long." I stand up on the box again. "Everyone! With the help of an aquiantance, I have come to a conclusion! Sir Joshua and Sir Harold, kneel before me."

 

They do so.
Riihs steps behind you and the box.

Everyone else seems to be looking at you in anticipation.

 

"I have decided...that there shall be TWO CAPTAINS!" I draw my sword, then I tap their shoulders with it, and then their heads. "By the power vested in me...I bestow upon thee the title and responsibility of...captain." I sheath my sword. "Congratulations. Both of you are co-captains now."

 

The crowd applauds, and both of them kneel.

Riihs watches silently.

 

"Now, even though the both of you are technically captains, I still have one final request before I leave. I request, that someone deliver me all my belongings. I shall pick which I shall bring with me, and which I shall leave."

 

A good portion of the crowd scatters to follow your orders.
The two knights are discussing something.

The rest of the crowd erupts in discussion.
Riihs seems oblivious to the noise.
"I think I see my daughter." He shouts at you, trying to only be audible to you.

 

"Oh no...That can't be good. What's your daughter doing here? Where is she?"

 

"Far in the east. She's riding her caretaker... I'll explain later."

The soldiers return with your stuff.
Everything down to the notebook pages that have fallen out over time.

 

"Alright. Someone pack them into as little bags as possible. Leave out what you think is not important." I look at Riihs. "Does she look...angry?"

 

"She seems worried... maybe she's still shaken when the four against us ganged up on her. It's been a couple days, though..."

"Pretty much everything relevant fits into your backpack. You want more bolts?"

 

I look at the soldier, and say "Sure." Then I look at Riihs and say "Is this a sensitive topic? I mean, we can stop here if you want..."

 

"Nah, she was just jumped by four other demigods. In terms of human maturity, she's seven. It's not that sensitive to me... I got her out of it, and frankly, I'm surprised she's not more used to it than she is by now."

The soldier ducks through the crowd, then returns with a bag of bolts about a minute later, clipping it to your pack as he hands it to you.
"Good luck, captain." He salutes.

 

"Very well." I salute back the soldier. "By the way, Riihs, I just have to do one last thing. Don't worry, its fast." I walk over to Captains Harold and Joshua.

 

"In case no one had noticed, were heading toward a keep. With people. In no-man's land."
My eyes narrow.
"I'll scout out ahead."

I close my eyes and hold out my hand in front of me. I mouth words rapidly, attempting to extend my vision to down below. Realizing the distance is too far, I create a crossbow of light and fire a bolt forward, in the general direction of the keep.

OOC: If I shouldn't be able to see it because it's so far away, too bad. I'm a light wizard.

 

He nods, then leaps and launches himself over the wall.

The two captains turn to you.
"Anything we can do to help you before you head out?"
"Good luck out there; nobody wants to hear word of your death."

"We're landing before it. I see Riihs, plus the sooner we touch the ground, the sooner Artemis doesn't have to be wrapped around me."

 

"The two of you are in charge of this place already. However, I have to tell the both of you something important. If a portal opens and a man comes through, tell the man that the world is not ready for destruction yet. Trust me on this one." I salute the both of them before heading out with Riihs.
