Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I know it will. We tested it."

 

"With whom?" Katie asks, somewhat nervously.

 

"A clone of you." Emerald says. "Your body can be preserved at temperatures below what your kind believes to be absolute zero."

 

"You...You cloned me!?" Katie asks, shocked.

 

Emerald nods.
"Xlentia ordered an immortality protocol for all of you. You die here, and you'll just wake up back in the Cryostasis room. Xephyr runs it, you can ask her for details."

 

"A-Am I just a clone of myself, then?" Katie asks, looking at her hands.

 

"No. We only cloned you because we weren't sure you could be frozen. We reconstruct you from your remains and your soul, so you're always the same person and never a clone."

 

"T-That's a little, m-morbid." Katie says, scared.

 

"Then don't die here." Emerald says bluntly. "Point is, Xlentia wanted to make Stephanie not hate her, so she ordered the immortality protocol. You and your friends could kill yourselves and be back moving in a few days."

 

"But, isn't that messing with nature? Gaia's control? Everyone has their time to die..." Katie asks.

 

"Not here." Emerald says. "Besides, you can choose not to revive, and there's only so many times you can die before you wind up dead beyond necromancy."

 

"T-This is sort of freaking me out." Katie says, scared.

 

"Then don't get yourself killed." Emerald says. "Again, talk to Xephyr if you want details."

 

"O-Ok." Katie says, heading off to look for Xephyr.

 

Upon entering the Cryostasis room, Katie can see Avis flying about, her chirping loudly upon seeing Katie.
"Who is it, girl? Can you show me?"
Avis flies up to a central cryochamber and shapeshifts into Katie before shifting back.
"Katie? What's she doing here?"

 

Katie quickly surrounds herself with water, which freezes into a set of tough looking ice armour, covering her entire head and body. Katie heads into the cryostasis room, smiling mischievously behind her icy helmet.

 

Avis flies over to Katie and sits on the shoulder of her armor.
"Katie? You still here?" Xephyr calls. "I'm hooked up to the console, I can't move right now!"

 

Katie heads over to the source of Xephyr's voice, walking sternly to try and look intimidating.

 

Xephyr's hooked up to an odd machine, similar to Ruby's.
"Long time, no see. It's really hard to be intimidated by you after travelling with you for so long."

 

Katie's armour melts.

"Aww, how did you know it was me?" Katie asks, disappointed.
