Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Can't remember off the top of my head. I had Emerald write it down though."

They seem to be in a deadlock, neither able to move from exhaustion.

"Have you tried reaching out to her like she has you?" Linoa asks. "Her world's been turned upside down. If your friends turned you into your parents, wouldn't you feel as strongly as she is?"

 

"I guess..." Stephanie says, pulling her covers a little tighter around her.

 

"Hey, at least your problem is dead." Linoa says, trying to offer comfort.

 

"Two of my problems." Stephanie corrects.

 

"Right, sorry." Linoa chuckles. "Your shadow sure knows how to put on a show."

 

"Really? Did it happen a long time ago?"

I keep watching, interested.

 

"Yeah. Before I was captured by the Hive Bastard."

They're still as statues, the healer glancing at the audience whether or not to reset.

 

"She's always been nice to me since I summoned her and told her why. I think without her, I wouldn't have made it to Aj's house alive." Stephanie says, smiling.

 

"I think I like her. Shoving her heart into his mouth before ripping his throat out? I dunno if our executioner could've done better!"

 

"Shadow Stephanie once told me how she'd sort of laid dormant inside the person she wanted to kill, slowly draining their energy over days and weeks, weakening them down until she burst out of them and killed them easily." Stephanie says happily.

 

Linoa laughs.
"I think I may want to get to know her, then!"

 

"She's really nice if you catch her in a good mood." Stephanie says happily.

 

"I already've seen her in a bad mood!" Linoa laughs. "Still, I just came to check up on you. I'll check if Katie's still home, then see if she thought my husband and I stayed in Asimuul."

 

"Thanks. It's nice to have supportive people around you during a time like this." Stephanie says, smiling.

 

"I'm just trying to be a bit less hated here. Just playin' it like Xlentia!" Linoa laughs.

 

"Yeah...things got pretty rough early on." Stephanie admits.

 

"Sorry about those times. It's... strange trying to figure out what are grey areas and what are off limits and such when you meet someone... from a different reality."

 

"Abigail probably wasn't the best person for an introduction into our society and psychology." Stephanie says, laughing slightly.

 

"Literally everyone picked up on that." Linoa snickers.

 

"Abigail's sort of sour on the outside but sweet on the inside. She's generally nicer and opens up more to people she knows well, and has a distaste for anyone new." Stephanie explains.
