Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shapeshifting works just fine.

Everything's as it was. Scarf, empty sockets, and all.
"Great! Then I didn't mess up!"

 

Suspicious, I take off the scarf and look at it.

 

It's mostly the same scarf you've always had, but places where it seems to have been torn in half had been reconstructed with new threads of a matching color.
"Uhm... did I mess up?" Xephyr asks nervously.

 

"No, no, it's nothing."
I re-wrap the scarf around my neck.
"Just checking some stuff."
"So, how'd we die?"
Crystal asks like Xephyr knows.

 

"If I knew, I'd tell you. I'm anchored here; I wasn't there, and I didn't go to your death site for your remains. Sorry." Xephyr sighs, disappointed with herself.

 

"Oh... Okay..."
"Well, I might go and see if there's anyone to contact Abigail if she's not busy, or once she's not busy. We still need her to fix that ship."
"Oh, yeah!"

 

"Hey, if you die again or get back here intact, you should bring some stories back with you! It gets boring here lying dormant in this thing day in, day out." She implicitly asks, lightening up.

 

"If I hear or read anything really worth telling, I'll get back to you."
"Yeah, same here!"
Crystal smiles, and I grin, looking around for the doorway.

 

"Thanks! Travel safe... ish!" She calls happily.

The doorway is... left open from when Xlentia was in here. At least, her doorway is. Which means it looks like somebody forgot to finish the wall there.

 

"Thanks."
"See ya!"
I head towards the door, and Crystal catches up.

 

Luckily, it seems your movement rings are still on each of you.
At least you can get around in a timely manner...


For now, it seems what you do is entirely up to you. Xlentia's in her chambers, the Training Room and Bunk Room is still buzzing with activity, and of course the Library seems to endlessly harbor traffic.

 

"I'm going to try and find Kyle. Catch up on some stuff before finding Abigail and after... well, you know."
"Yeah... I might just wander around for a bit."
"Alright. If you get Abigail, come find me, okay?"
"Will do!"
I head off to the training room, and Crystal starts spinning, stops, and heads in the direction he faces.

 

Crystal winds up aiming at Xlentia's chambers. Emerald seems to just be leaving.
"Oh, hello. I was worried when you didn't come back with the rest of the group." She says in passing.


Kyle doesn't seem to be in the training room at all at the moment.

 

"Yeah, I dunno what happened. But anyways, I was kinda wondering about the palace. It seems like such a big place, but it kinda gets small after a while, does't it?"
Crystal seems curious.

I look around more thoroughly before doing anything else.

 

Emerald stops.
"I... never thought about it. Yes, I guess it does." She says, first smiling a bit, then cringing and reeling back.
"U-uhm... pardon me, I need to get going..." She says hastily, continuing on.


After another scan of all the domes and the armory, he's clearly not there.

 

"Where are you going?"
Crystal seems ever more curious.

I think for a bit, before going to check the trainer list again, specifically the dates.

 

"Archives again." She shouts. "Getting behind on maintaining billions of books is hell!"


Seems no broadsword trainers are in today or tomorrow.

 

"Thanks," Shadow Stephanie says, petting Muffy, "I'll see you around."

Shadow Stephanie heads through the portal.

 

He quickly loses interest.
"Oh... Bye!"

A bit upset, I walk around to see if any fights are going on.

 

Muffy jumps off Shadow Stephanie's shoulder as she walks through.

"...You think it'll help her hate me less?"
"I dunno. We'll see."

There are always fights going on. You've got two battlemages, two heavy weapons users, and a two-on-two battle against supportive casters and assassins, one of each per team.
