Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Artemis sits beside Stephanie's bed, Stephanie lying on top. Artemis occasionally feeds Stephanie a piece of fruit while rubbing specialised healing cream on her wounds and bruises, a bowl of the herbs and leaves that make the cream being mashed up with a wooden fist. Artemis pets Muffy with a vine hand idly, though her attention on Stephanie.

 

Muffy hops up and spits an odd fluid on Artemis' healing cream, tripling its effect.

 

Stephanie lets out a weak sigh of relief as her wounds heal.

"I'm sorry we couldn't be there for you when you got taken, and we took so long to finally find you." Artemis says.

"I-It's ok...I'm here now." Stephanie says weakly, smiling.

 

"Mrow." Muffy says, licking Stephanie.

 

"What did they do to you?" Artemis asks.

"...H-Horrible things...Scarring things..." Stephanie says, looking away.

"I'm sorry." Artemis apologises, rubbing some more cream on Stephanie's wounds.

"It's not your fault." Stephanie says, though clearly sensitive about the topic.

 

Muffy coughs up a portal, Linoa stepping out.
"Hey, you're awake!"

 

"Hey..." Stephanie says weakly. Artemis finishes rubbing the healing cream over Stephanie's body, getting her bowl of fruit and taking out a piece to feed to Stephanie.

 

"I'm so sorry about that. Nobody should have to go through that. With your lifespan, especially."

 

"I'm glad I'm adopted..." Stephanie says sorrowfully, eating a slice of orange Artemis feeds her.

 

"I spoke with them before I bled them. The husband acted like an ungrateful bastard, and the wife passed out from fear." Linoa says. "I kept them in cryostasis so you could make 'em feel what they put you through if you so chose."

 

"Kill them." Stephanie says, deadly serious, before eating another orange slice fed to her by Artemis.

 

"That's way too generous! I was thinking of rigging them up to be torture toys for shadows." Linoa responds.

 

"Kill. Them." Stephanie says, her tone sounding like she doesn't want to negotiate. Stephanie gives Linoa a serious stare as she's fed another orange slice.

 

Linoa shrugs.
"Alright. Remind me to go to you when I die."
She steps back through, the portal closing.

Linoa grabs the husband by the neck.
"Okay. You must have a place in your daughter's heart, because she said you should die instead of becoming a torture toy. You or your spouse have any last words?" She asks, sitting him down so he can speak.

 

"W-Wait! Don't kill me! I can pay you a lot of money, I own a lot of stocks! I can make you extremely rich if you let me live!" The husband says, panicking.

 

Linoa laughs.
"Greedy, greedy bastard..."
A pile of gold coins slides out from the wall, Linoa rolling one towards him. It's far too heavy to pick up despite its size.
"Your money is nothing to me. However... I won't kill you." She says, smiling eerily gently.


Shadow Stephanie feels an attempted telepathic connection.
"Hello? Is this the Shadow Queen?"

 

"May I ask who this is?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"Draconian Linoa. I called to ask if you had room in your schedule to personally torture and or execute a couple your form knows all too well."

 

"Whom? The couple, I mean." Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"Your form's parents."

"So, now that your begging got you nowhere, how about your wife?" Linoa asks, turning to her. "Pepper spray would've worked just fine if I wasn't actually a battlemage."
