Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"One good thing she's done..." I mutter, deciding to finally read the note.

 

"Don't stab the messenger."

Sapphire sighs.
"U-um... I-I-I wanted to w-warn you about the other worlds... t-they all creep me out. M-maybe they will you, too."

 

"I don't know about exploring the other worlds, personally. After the first one, it's sort of left a bad taste in my mouth." I say, sighing.

 

Sapphire seems defeated.
"O-oh... okay. S-should I let X-xlentia know?"

 

"I think we all need some time to regroup and plan things out," I say, "Though that's kind of hard when-"

"GET EGG'D!" Abigail suddenly shouts, jumping out of seemingly nowhere and rapidly throwing an egg at my head.

"Agh, god dammit Abigail!" I say happily, wiping the egg out of my hair. Abigail laughs, clearly happy.

"I told you I'd get you back when you least expected it!" Abigail says, laughing.

"God dammit, now I need to egg someone..." I say, though sounding rather happy.

 

Sapphire nervously shakes her head no, backing up.
"P-please... I've had e-enough for a day... or however long i-it's been..."

 

"Enough what?" I ask.

"What?" Abigail asks.

"Oh, nothing. I was just thinking out loud." I say.

"I've had enough of your bullshit." Abigail says, looking serious, before laughing it off.

"Good one. But I've really had enough of your attitude, young lady. Straight to your bedroom!" I say, trying to sound serious but laughing through most of it.

"Oh jeez, sorry Dad! I'll go to my bedroom now! I loooove yoooou." Abigail says jokily as she heads back into the house.

 

Sapphire just looks at the two of you strangely, twitching occasionally.
"S-so... um... should I g-get Linoa to scout?"

 

It appears as if Sapphire was able to hide from Abigail the whole time.

"Oh, uh, scout what?" I ask, distracted.

 

Sapphire steps back into view.
"T-the other worlds... you know, t-the surprise of exploration seems n-not to be your thing."

 

"No, it's my thing, it's just...things have sort of fallen into dismay recently. I'm hyped to adventure, it's what me and the others used to do, but...we need some time at home to...well, regain our mojo." I explain awkwardly.

 

Sapphire clearly doesn't understand, but nods.
"U-uhm... d-did Abigail try messing w-with my mask? My body t-turned into some woman's, looked human but with flame insignias all over."

 

"I don't know, but I'd assume so if you turned into a fire guardian of sorts." I say.

 

"P-pretty regal garb?" Sapphire asks, frustrated.

 

"Sounds like Abigail tried to be queen of the fire guardians then." I say, shrugging.

 

"Can you please tell her not to mess with my mask anymore?" She asks, seeming stern enough to temporarily overcome her twitching.

...temporarily.

 

"I haven't seen it around, so I don't know if she's going to play with it, but sure I'll tell her," I say.

"Though, of course, then she'll know you've been here." I say slyly.

 

"I w-was trying to stay out of y-your sight, that moment, not hers... b-besides, the 'don't stab' note was for her, n-not you."

 

"Exactly," I say, smirking, "So are you sure you want her to know you've been here after what you've done?"

 

"It's worth it... barely. So yes." She groans.
