You steal a barrier.

They both freeze, looking at you.
"How about this..."
There's a barrier between your bolts and them.
"...we'll leave if you let us go, but you can't hold this against us. We'll call a truce until we leave each other's sight."
"Otherwise... we'll level your entire stronghold."
"Your call."

 

Maintaining my balance, I sit down.
"Wow. I am really out of practice. No wonder I got transferred back here."

 

"Don't mean it as an insult, but I'm hoping that means I'm not the only one age is getting to. You alright?"

 

"You see, as much as I would like to kill the both of you on the spot, there are still innocents in my stronghold. Leave. And never return here. The both of you are not welcome here any more. Should any of you ever return here, you will find my sword drawn." I walk back to the stronghold and place a barrier behind me. "Start repairing the wall." I whisper to a guard.

 

"There. I win this one. Ha!"
Tirai looks at you in vain before running off.
Lefalya hardly moves.

The guards get to work.

 

I grin, having gotten used to the sway of flight.
"If age was going to get to me, it would have done so long ago. I can see it coming before it arrives. It can't keep up."
I close my eyes and open my arms
"Try me."

 

I turn around and look at Lefalya, drawing my sword. "You've got a problem?"

 

Rineth bends his tail in a way that it causes you to lose your balance. He grabs you and seats you back where you were before you go flying off.

"Heh, maybe it's just situational on both ends."

I smile at Lefalya. "I'll take my chances with "or""

 

A portal swallows Lefalya, screaming.
It remains open, strong winds pushing everything away from it.

"You... may just be worthy of that choice..." A distorted voice echoes.

"Unfortunately... you are not of their world... I don't feel like creating an exception..."

Lefalya's spat back out as the portal closes. She looks thoroughly cut up.
"Heh... dropped in front of you... to die... well... make it quick, or tell me your decision and... take... your time..."

 

I smile. "Kneel, and you shall receive an honorable excecution. For although I am a demon of dishonor, I am still a man of honor."

 

"Not rocket boots per sey, more Magma Boots!" I say.

Artemis just holds on tightly, not paying attention to the new surroundings. She doesn't seem happy.

I speed up ahead, the fire increasing to compensate. I begin doing tricks in the air; flips, corkscrews, spins...

 

I ponder what has happened.
"You know, if Nyre perceives my illusions enough to use them... you all might end up fighting nothing. It would take incredible concentration, but personally, I'd rather have the odds in our favor than in his."
I sigh, dreading what I'll say next.
"You'll all have to learn to see without your eye."

 

"Well, I hope the answer is yes!"
Ihra rolls off Rineth's wing, taking Artemis with her.
She uses her wings to glide, but that's all she can manage.

"Ihra! Be polite when we have company!"
She's too distracted to answer.

"Wouldn't he copy the ability to bend light, though? That would prove to be an issue."

Another draconian falls from the sky behind her, cleaving her in half with a halberd.
"We kneel to none. I can guarantee you she wouldn't. I don't know what went down here... mind telling me before you start your offensive?"

Their robe is a greyish color. It's evident he's not Tirai. He also doesn't carry a hammer, rather a lance and a halberd.

 

Artemis seems to open her eyes a little, noticing that she's no longer being supported. Her eyes suddenly open wide as she notices she's falling; and she begins to scream.

I fly down towards Artemis quickly, catching her in both arms. "Why did we have to fly?" She says tearfully, holding on to me tightly, "It's alright, I've got you." I say, trying to calm Artemis.

 

"Both of you, just get back up to me. One of you is petrified, and the other only knows how to glide."
"Sorry Artemis..."
"Apologize after I know I'm not having to dive to catch you."

 

"I have a feeling...that you are...honorable? I'm not too sure...but that lance sure does seem convincing. Hahahah! Anyways, so Lefayla came to me asking for help in killing her brother, Tirai. I decided to try and get the two to talk it out when Tirai came out of nowhere. Needless to say they refused and began fighting each other. They created that hole in the southern wall in my stronghold during their fight. Then, they stopped and gave me an ultimatum. I either let them be and the war continues, or I continue attacking them and they level my stronghold. Of course I chose the latter. After that, Tirai ran off, and Lefayla tried to give me another ultimatum, but she was sucked in a portal. She was spewed out, and I was about to excecute her for her crimes to my stronghold when you came along and did my job for me"

I don't really believe in the whole magic stuff they use... for whatever reason, I've never had a knack for it. If it wasn't just now clear, I'm with Tirai, but it seems his connection's fading... Might I make it up to you by helping with reconstruction? I figure someone has to pay our debts, and it seems I'm the only diplomat after thousands of battles..."
He looks at you, then the guards. (Who, again, have crossbows pointed at him)
"...if you don't trust me, you can hold on to my weapons until you're done with me. If you're not interested, I should probably check on my daughter."

"Or be Vesius. He can't see light at all. It's funny; he walks into a bright room and those who live in darkness freak. He walks into a dark room and those who live in light freak. He still doesn't understand it." Rineth chuckles.

 

"Guards, its alright, just get back to fixing the wall!" I look at the draconian and say "No, its fine. Actually though, I'd like to know what exactly is going on. I didn't get to hear much from Lefayla before Tirai came in. All I could get was that there's some kind of war, and that the both of them became...puppets?"
