Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Abigail tries out the "FGUARDIAN" option with the queen setting.

 

An error message appears.
"CLOAK INCOMPLETE: PARTIAL ARMOR PRESENT"

 

Abigail takes the mask off, before heading upstairs to her bedroom. Abigail heads over to her closet, opening the door to it and stepping inside. Abigail punches in a code on a hidden keypad in her closet, and the back of it spins around to her suit of armour. Abigail presses a key on the keypad, and the armour is switched with an empty armour rack, which Abigail puts the mask on before sealing it away again before exiting her closet.

Abigail glances out her window, looking at her volcano idly.

 

Nothing out of the ordinary.

 

Abigail decides to head over to her computer, starting it up and browsing the internet for a while.


"You think we should continue with that 'adventure' we were on?" I ask Artemis downstairs.

"I don't know. It's really nice to be home again." Artemis says, content.

"Well, we're not really home. We're crashing at Abigail's." I say.

"You know what I mean." Artemis says, smiling.

 

For some reason, you remember your times with Ihra, and an empty assurance that she one day would have a home not to run from.

 

I shake the memories away, storing them in the depths of my mind with many other similar interactions.

Artemis and I casually watch the television, cartoons playing on it.

 

As the sun sets, the room is noticeably emptier without Sgavrinn laying there.

 

Artemis sighs.

"When do you think Sgavrinn's going to return?" Artemis asks.

"No idea. If he's out of reality, time and space don't apply. One minute here could be what might feel like one millions years to him, and one mile here could be one centimetre. At the same time, one second there could be 2 miles here." I say.

Artemis just sighs again.

Abigail heads downstairs, going into her kitchen to start cooking dinner.

 

There's a knock at the door.

 

"Aj, can you get that for me!?" Abigail calls from the kitchen.

"Sure thing!" I shout back, heading to the front door and opening it.

 

There's a note.
"Camp burned down. Stephanie still hasn't shown. Please respond soon if you are still alive.
-Rineth."

 

I decide to summon a piece of paper and a pen, sitting down and writing a letter, before summoning an envelope and putting it inside. I write the address onto the envelope, marked to be given to Rineth, before opening a portal to the Shadow Realm mailing services and putting my hand through, retrieving my hand once my letter is taken and sent through the system to be eventually given to Rineth.

"Hey Artemis, do you know where Stephanie went?" I ask.

"No, but I think she just went home." Artemis says, slightly worried by my question.

 

There is no address. He's in the middle of the forest on Asimuul.

 

OOC: I guess I was a little vague with that. The letter basically said 'Find Rineth and give this to him'

"Dinner's ready!" Abigail calls after a while. Artemis and I head into the dining room, where three plates of spaghetti wait on the table; Abigail sitting beside one of them.

"I hope you like my spaghetti!" Abigail says happily.

"Smells good." I say, sitting down. Artemis sits opposite me, and the three of us begin to eat.

 

Rineth, stuck in the mud, takes the letter from the mail carrier and reads it.

 

"Hey, Rineth!

Artemis, Abigail and I are currently staying at Abigail's place. We're fine and alive. I don't know about Katie or Stephanie, but I assume they're safe. Feel free to drop by for a visit if you want to.

The King of Shadows,
Aj."

 

He writes back, the letter reaching Abigail's house as you wake up.
"Aj,
Katie hasn't been here either. She said she'd be back, but I'm getting worried.
Also, I'm sinking in the mud and will drown in about a week. It'd be great if you could come back soon; the drow already asked me if you had any intentions on returning. If not, they offered to kill me early. Quick and easy kind of beats sitting here for two weeks alone."

 

I sleepily read the letter, writing two back once I'm more awake. Only one of the letters is addressed to Rineth, however.


This time, when Rineth is brought the letter, an army of Shadows follows the carrier, a sergeant leading them.

"ALRIGHT YOU LAZY MAGGOTS, YOU'VE GOT ORDERS FROM THE KING HERE, SO IF I CATCH EVEN ONE OF YOU SLACKING OFF, YOU'LL ALL HAVE TO ANSWER TO HIM!" The sergeant shouts, "I WANT YOU ALL TO PULL THIS DRAGON OUT OF THIS MUD, EVERY ONE OF YOU NEEDS TO SURROUND HIM TO PULL HIM OUT. YOU ALL BETTER BE USING ALL YOUR STRENGTH!"

The army of Shadows, looking rather large and powerful, surround Rineth. A good half of the Shadows dive into the mud to push Rineth up from the bottom, while the other half work on pulling him out.

 

It takes about an hour to lift the rather cross Rineth out of the mud.
"I hope you didn't attract Nyx's followers." He groans, finally free. "And thanks."
