Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Abigail, Sgavrinn needs directions." Artemis says.

"Oh, just fly northwest for a bit, then fly just west. I'll tell you when." Abigail says, patting Sgavrinn.

 

Sgavrinn nods, taking a moment to get his bearings then gliding northwest as told, turning as Abigail gives him the cue.

 

After a bit of flying, Sgavrinn can begin to faintly hear the sounds of music, and he can faintly see a large gathering of people in the distance. A red dragon, just slightly larger than Sgavrinn, flies up next to him.

"Hey, you guys headed to the concert too?" The dragon asks.

"Yeah. I heard Scrap Iron is playing at it!" Abigail responds happily.

"Aw, wicked! I love those guys!" The dragon responds, smiling.

 

Sgavrinn sniffs at the other dragon, mildly confused as he carefully starts to descend.

 

The dragon smells like smoke and ash, presumably a fire guardian. The dragon dives down to the ground, before changing to it's fire guardian form moments before landing.

A large fence can be seen around the crowds, a massive stage at the very back of the fenced in area with various stalls around the front. A line of people seem to be gaining entrance at a small gate, guarded by a pair of strong looking men.

 

Sgavrinn lands as close to the entrance as safely possible.
"Mud?" He asks Artemis again after landing.

 

Artemis gathers up some mud from the ground, the ground fairly wet and muddy; patches of grass growing here and there. Artemis stuffs some mud in Sgavrinn's ears, before putting in earplugs herself. Abigail rolls up her jeans before putting her own earplugs in, just in time for the next band to start playing some exceptionally loud music. The group walks over to the gate, joining the line of people and guardians. Some of the people in the line give me nervous looks and quick glances, clearly intimidated.

 

Sgavrinn stays close to Artemis, his size significantly larger than someone just standing in line.

 

The line starts to move forward, a clear large gap forming between me and the other people in line.

Once the group gets to the front of the line, one of the strong men looks over the group.

"That'll be...25 gold for all of you." The man says. Abigail digs into her pocket, taking out two coins, each with different patterns on them and handing them to the man. The second man guarding the gate offers the group a wristband each, before tying one to Sgavrinn's front right foot. The group enters in concert's area, Abigail immediately heading over to one of the nearby stalls cooking meats.

 

Sgavrinn grows himself a vine leash, one end wrapped around Artemis' wrist.
"It looks easy to get lost here, but you can cut it when you look for a seat. I think I'm too big for... most of the things here."

 

"I don't think there's many seats here." Artemis says, chuckling as she heads over to a stall selling various fruity sorbets.

I trail Artemis, Abigail soon heading over with a hotdog in one hand and a beefburger in the other, beaming.

"Thish conchert ish already awshome!" Abigail says happily, food in her mouth.

"Yeah, it's nice to have a simple adventure like this. Really, just a night out." I say, smiling.

"Hey Aj, look, Tacritos!" Abigail says happily, pointing me to a stall with her hotdog.

"Oh my god, I have to get one of those." I say, hurrying over to join the line to the stall.

 

"Everyone stands? That must hurt!" Sgavrinn comments, following Artemis like a dog who's just content to be out of the house.

 

"People often dance." Artemis says happily, getting a bowl of watermelon and mango sorbet and eating it.

I return to the group, holding something that looks like a hybrid between a taco and a burrito; a large smile on my face.

"Shall we join the crowds?" Abigail asks.

Artemis glances at Sgavrinn, as if asking him the same question.

 

Sgavrinn nods, sneaking a taste of Artemis' sorbet.
"I'm just following you."

 

The sorbet tastes divine, capturing the essence of watermelons and mangoes.

"Yeah, let's go." Artemis says, smiling.

"I'm happy to do whatever, now that I have my tacrito," I say happily, taking a bite of my food, "And you, Artemis. It's nice having you around too."

The group heads toward the crowds of people in front of the stage, the music growing louder even through the earplugs. A lot of people seem to be cheering and dancing.

 

Sgavrinn just lets the leash guide him as he watches the crowd, the whole ordeal of a concert foreign to him.

 

The group eventually ends up in the crowds, Artemis keeping Sgavrinn close as Abigail and I join in with the various people cheering and dancing. Music continues to play throughout the night, everyone seeming to enjoy themselves.

 

Sgavrinn seems content with simply people watching, trying not to bump too many others while sticking close to Artemis.

 

A few people ask Artemis if they can pet Sgavrinn over the music, and Artemis nods in response. People gently pet Sgavrinn, intrigued and smiling.

 

Sgavrinn nuzzles those who pets them, sniffing them on occasion out of curiosity.
His humming is drowned out by the music, though Artemis can feel his throat vibrate from the leash.
