Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'm not jealous of you..." Abigail mumbles quietly, depressed.

"What was that conversation about? I understood like, 30% of that." I ask, confused.

 

"N-no, I'm jealous of you! That was the comversation I had with Linoa when she put up a barrier to keep Abigail from falling in the water!"

 

"Why'd she say that you were talented and we were jealous, then?" I ask, befuddled.

 

"No, that was between me and Linoa, just our dialogue..."

 

"I still do not understand that conversation." I say bluntly.

"Can I just go home..." Abigail asks, depressed.

"Oh, right, sorry." I say, opening the portal and heading through with Abigail.

 

"O-okay! It was me asking Linoa to kill me!" Sapphire admits, hugging Abigail while flustered.

 

"Because you can't feel joy so are in a constant state of either emotional neutrality or below?" I ask, standing half-through the portal.

Abigail gets onto her feet to hug Sapphire, holding on a little longer than normal.

 

"That and... a-and... I'm jealous of Abigail! Everyone thinks skating is cool, but nobody likes puppets anymore! E-everyone hates me, and Abigail thinks she's b-being tormented?!" Sapphire cries out. "I'm sorry to mess with you, I-I just wanna have a group I can call friends!"

 

"I'm not cool...You don't have to be jealous of a loser like me..." Abigail says, depressed, heading through the portal.

"Sophie, we are your friends, none of us hate you." I say, serious.

 

"B-but... I was behind all the stuff... I-I punched you so you wouldn't hurt anyone... but then you hurt everyone..."

 

"When did you punch me?" I ask, confused.

 

"N-no, Abigail..."

 

"So, when did you punch Abigail?" I ask.

Abigail just waits on the other side of the portal, unsurprisingly looking depressed.

 

"When she and Linoa were talking to the two Anubi over Abigail knocking out Stephanie. I-it's their culture to isolate victim from attacker as soon as possible. When A-abigail got mad at the Anubi, I knocked h-her out so she would be taken to s-safety and n-not hurt anyone..."

 

Abigail looks deeply betrayed, before heading off up her volcano, crying.

"That probably wasn't the best idea, to say or do," I comment, "I need to make sure nothing happens to Abigail, so tell the others I'll be back in a bit."

I head through the portal and quickly follow Abigail.

 

"H-how else would you stop someone about t-to kill someone you cared a-about?" Sapphire asks before cloaking and leaving.

 

The portal closes behind Sapphire as she leaves, turning the portal room dark again. There's nowhere else to go but the elevator.

 

Sapphire just goes back to Xlentia's palace, punching in commands into the console while still cloaked.

 

Unfortunately, a water guardian enters the portal room as Sapphie's punching in commands, bumping into Sapphire as he tries to access the console.

"What the hell!?" The water guardian exclaims, forming an icy trident, "Who's there?"

 

She knocks Sapphire's mask off, causing her to jump in terror.
