Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Fine. No wonder Rineth doesn't love you." I say after Linoa, exploring the desert and looking for the cafe.

 

The desert is bare and empty, not a figure in sight.

Linoa ignores your comment, giving Rineth a kiss as she passes.

Linoa keeps going, passing by the camp Artemis set up, but continuing far deeper into the forest.

 

I eventually decide to go back to my first plan, digging another hole and bracing any land sharks I find, digging the hole further down and wider as I go.

Artemis follows Linoa stealthily through the trees.

 

Linoa stops.
"I need Aj to not... kill the Anubi... if he does, you won't be able to get the artifact."

You find a lot of land sharks.

 

"Why do I need the artifacts?" Artemis asks, sliding down a tree.


I ignore the land sharks and keep digging until I have a large hole, before using the built up sand to compact into a castle-like wall around the hole, before continuing to dig further down.

"I swear that box of Shad-O's said the treasure was in a sandy area. One day, Captain Dusk. One day I'll find your treasure." I mutter as I dig.

 

"Didn't the drow elder tell you? They're pieces of Xlentia and Virei'tus' power! Kind of useful if you ask me!"

One of the land sharks looks at you awkwardly before curiosity gets the best of them and they ruin yor castle by 'swimming' around in it.

 

"The Elder said they were artifacts of the power that wiped out 95% of life here." Artemis says.


"God dammit." I say, picking up the fallen sand and instead packing it into a sphinx, digging the hole deeper as I collect more sand.

 

"Yeah. That's how much power is in those artifacts." Linoa says, flustered. "He went to go butcher the Anubi because he thinks he hasn't filled his role as a genocidal demon!"

 

"Where is he now?" Artemis asks, her expression serious and tone sounding like she isn't joking around at all.


"Sushi caaat, sushi caaaat, he just wants to eat the sushi in his kitty mouth, sushi caaaat, sushi caaat, he's going to get fat of he eats all that sushi." I sing to myself as I dig the hole deeper.

 

"Desert, where the Anubi live. Please, speak some sense into him!" Linoa pleads.

The sand sharks seem to have loosened up the sand below, you and the faux sphinx sinking after you dig a bit too deep.

 

Artemis climbs a tree before heading through them, toward the desert.


I continue digging regardless, going deeper and deeper into the sand.

 

You eventually hit solid rock, the land sharks not tunneling through either.

 

I start cutting into the rock with Shadow Katana, trying to dig deeper.

 

After one cut, Shadow Katana seems to refuse to cut through the rock.

 

I decide to summon a more appropriate pickaxe to try and mine through the rock.

 

You make slow progress, but the desert sun is getting to you...

 

I continue mining regardless, ignoring the desert sun.


Artemis builds a bridge out of wood and vines over the chasm to the desert, walking over it when it's done before entering the desert.

 

Artemis can see the giant pit you dug.

After a few more minutes, you dig into a small room.

 

Artemis heads over to the giant pit, looking in.


I look around the room, curious.

 

Artemis sees you looking down at what seems to be a child's bedroom, pickaxe and Shadow Katana in hand or near at hand.


There's a small hound-headed humanoid sleeping, a toybox half-buried in the sand you let in its room. You hear its parents in the next room.
"Honey, did you hear that?"
"Smells like Mona's room."
"I'll go make sure she's okay."
"Don't be too long, we have to be at city hall in 15 minutes."
