Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

There are hundreds.
Wherever you are, it's populated.


Its scale flakes easily. Seems it's been dead quite a while.

 

"Guys...I don't think we're alone." Abigail says, looking around.


Katie swims back a bit, before looking around nervously for signs of any predators that could've killed the serpent.

 

Only some of them are looking at the group.


No predators. The serpent - no, leviathan - was clearly the apex predator.

 

Stephanie flies over to some of the people.

"Hello!" Stephanie says, smiling.


Katie glances up, before swimming through the lake, exploring how far it goes.

 

They look at her uneasily.
"Morning."


It's easily the size of an ocean...

 

"Is there something wrong? My group doesn't mean you any harm." Stephanie says kindly.


Katie decides to head back to the lake surface.

"This lake is huge under the surface!" Katie says happily.

 

Crystal dashes after her.

I stick with Aj's group, staying at the end of the lake.

 

Artemis swims over to you, drenched in water.

"Hey, everything alright?" Artemis asks.

 

"You smell of the one who threatened us."
They're as cloaked as Stephanie was in the library.


Sgavrinn hums in agreement.

 

"I've never been here before, so it's probably just a coincidence." Stephanie says, smiling.

"Who are these dudes?" Abigail asks, walking over.


"The lake's pretty big, yeah. You could probably fast travel places through it if you really wanted." I suggest.

"Yeah, it'd save time tunnelling if I can just use this lake!" Katie says happily, enjoying the water.

 

"Do you know one who is and uses a sword of darkness?"


Ragnyon perks up.
"That'd make things easier on me."

 

Stephanie and Abigail glance at each other.

"Nope!" Stephanie lies.

"I do, sort of. Those are called Shadows, super dangerous beings. I don't know one personally though." Abigail lies.


"Can you breathe underwater?" Katie asks.

 

The cloaked figured glance at each other.
"You smell of lies..."


"Yeah. Aquos?"
"I can too." Sapphire adds.

 

"How does someone 'smell' of lies. You're smelling like bullshit." Abigail says.

"Have you learned to use your sense of smell more effectively? Or have you simply evolved greater senses of smell?" Stephanie asks.


"Awesome!" Katie says happily.

 

"You smell of defiance, and the other of curiosity."
"You mistake us for humans."
One figure takes off their cloak, and a hound-like head is on a human's body.
"We were dubbed Anubi, due to our resemblance to the supposed god."


Sapphire helps Sgavrinn out of the water before opting to stay near Ragnyon and Katie.

 

"HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK!?" Abigail screams, freaked out by the Anubi, fireball primed in her hand.

Stephanie summons her tome, flipping through the pages.

"Anubi...Anubi..." Stephanie mumbles as she flips through the pages.


Katie decides to freeze the area of the lake around her, creating an iceberg which she sits on, floating on the lake.

 

"Hey, relax. I smell fear when there is no need to fear. If you wish to avoid us, simply go around our domain."


Ragnyon freezes her tail to the iceberg and lazes about while she's attached.

 

"WHY DO YOU HAVE A DOG HEAD!?" Abigail screams.

"I've found Anubis, but there isn't much on his species." Stephanie says, looking up, before offering Abigail a dark green phial.

"Drink this." Stephanie says.

"NO, I'M NOT ZONING OUT WHEN THERE ARE CREEPY FUCKS LIKE THESE STANDING IN FRONT OF ME!" Abigail screams.


Katie expands the iceberg a bit, before chiselling out a tunnel and pathways down it to create pretty waterfalls running down the iceberg, sustained by the lake.

 

The uncloaked one seems to be getting angry.
"You have a lot of nerve if you come to our home merely to insult us and our kin..."
"This is natural."


Ragnyon shifts position slightly, letting one of the waterfalls fall over her face.

 

Stephanie tries to force Abigail to drink the phial.

"Get off!" Abigail shouts.
"Drink the phial, Abigail!" Stephanie shouts.
"Let go of me before I burn you!" Abigail shouts.
"Drink it!" Stephanie shouts.
"Let go!" Abigail shouts.

The pair struggle for a bit, before Abigail ends up punching Stephanie. Stephanie stumbles back for a bit, before falling unconscious on the sand.

"Oh shit, I didn't mean to hit you that hard!" Abigail apologises, looking worried.


I swim over to Katie's iceberg, before trying to drink some of the water from one of the waterfalls.

"Aj, what are you doing?" Katie asks, laughing.

"I'm thirsty!" I say, drinking the water, "This is nice and cold and clean."
