Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Artemis and I look at the photo, then at each other.

We both smile, I hold out my hand, "Dearest Artemis, may I have this dance?" I say.

Artemis blushes, "Why yes, my good Sir Aj, you may." Artemis says, taking my hand.

We begin to dance a dance somewhat akin to the one in the photo.

 

Ihra sits, smiling, watching.
Rineth sits behind her, looking pleased.
"Told you." Ihra giggles.
"I know you remember."
"Yeah, but they wouldn't do it if I said I did."
"Do you remember the other thing?"
"Yes... hehe. Let them finish, though. Don't be rude."

 

We dance together, clearly enjoying ourselves.

"Shall we give them the grand finale?" I ask Artemis while dancing.

"I think that would be lovely." Artemis replies.

Artemis' hands begin to glow green as we dance together, and the ground begins to shake. Intertwining vines apear from the ground, sprouting various coloured flowers, before...

Artemis and I finish our dance with a loving kiss, a large multi-coloured flower blooming behind us. Petals are thrown from pairs of wooden hands, which decend slowly around us.

 

Ihra applauds, beaming.
Rineth beats his wings to produce a clapping sound.
"Beautiful. You two make a fine couple."
Ihra just keeps clapping.

 

"I told you they'd applaud." Artemis says, smiling affectionately.

I smile at Artemis, "I said we didn't need a big audience; we both got what we wanted."

Artemis and I hug each other, "We do just need each other." Artemis says, smiling, "We're two halves of a split cake." I say.

"What does that even mean?" Artemis says, laughing a little, "I ate the cake." I reply, laughing.

 

Ihra just looks confused.
"Maybe it's time we showed them something from our homeworld."
"Sure."
"Would you two mind if we..."
"...don't worry, I remember how, Rineth."

 

"Go ahead." Artemis says happily.

I watch intently. Artemis and I stay close to each other while we watch together.

 

Ihra jams her staff into the ground, then chants. A sphere of light surrounds her, which collapses then explodes.

When the brightness fades, you see a sky blue dragon with tail wrapped around Rineth's, both smiling.

They first circle about, spinning each other with their tails. This is followed by Rineth leaping and pulling Ihra with him, Ihra swinging below him, and then swinging him around in a circle.
They proceed to do a myriad of loops, circles, and twists in the air, which lasts about a minute.
Rineth then drops to the ground, dragging Ihra with him. She launches around him, and the two spin each other about again with their tails.
After one last loop, the two wrap their tails around each other, then bend over backwards to nuzzle. It looks like a blue and black circle.

Ihra laughs, then drops back down to all-fours, as does Rineth.
"It's been a while since I've seen you dance."
"I haven't done it for years... no good opportunities."
Ihra, as a normal dragon, curls up next to Rineth.
"Uh... you may wish to go back to draconian form before you pin me to the ground.

Ihra laughs nervously.
"Right. Sorry."
Another sphere, then Ihra appears as normal, picking up her staff.

 

"Dancing with Dragons."
I say, amused.
"Heard the expression, never actually seen the real thing."
(Pause)
"Dancing, of course, refers to meddling, in the expression."

 

OOC: Sorry, busy day.

A few guards run to you, looking confused and frustrated..
A humanoid with dragon-like wings, scales, and features is reported to be waiting at the edge of the stronghold. They say it wants to speak with whoever was in charge 'here.'

 

"This feels like a trap. You two, come with me. Hide your weapons, but do not hesitate to draw them if needed." I point to two of the guards, and I hide my crossbow.

 

"Yes, sir. Over here... they said they wouldn't give a name until maybe they spoke with you."
They follow orders, marching slightly ahead of you to the southern walls.

You can see the figure in the distance. They're standing perfectly still, staring straight at you.

 

I head over to the figure and bow my head, as a sign of respect, and hold out my hand. "Greetings. I am Sir Robert of Greenhill Stronghold. I am the Captain of the knights. What business do you seek, might I ask?"

 

They shake your hand and nod.
"I'm looking for my brother. Looks exactly like me, except he has a black robe. I was wondering if you'd seen him around..."
Their eyes flash red, for only an instant.
"...bugger keeps getting away."

 

I look at my fellow guards/knights, and say "I am afraid not, good sir. If you would like, I can personally escort you into the fort and help you ask the other knights."

 

"Drop the formalities, I'm his twin sister. They won't stand a chance, I want someone strong enough to find one of those I seek. If not my brother, any of his friends. Your guards won't cut it. You want proof? I can kill them without touching you, and I won't even move an inch."

 

We both applaud.

"That was quite the sight to see!" I say with an appreciative tone.

"I agree, it was amazing!" Artemis says happily.

"I guess I don't ever want to annoy you, lest face you as a dragon." I say, laughing.

 

"You won't have to worry about the spit!" She laughs.
"She'd be easier to kill, if you become some sick, twisted monster who wants to kill her. Bigger, slower target."

Rineth forms a telepathic link.
"Again."

 

I'm hit with guilt, but I don't let it show; not wanting to make Ihra suspicious.

"So are there any towns around here? I'm getting sorta hungry and I don't think you'd appreciate me eating a corpse near here." I ask Ihra.

"I think I want to try one of those some time." Artemis says, turning to me.

"A...corpse?" I say, surprised.

Artemis nods, "First time for everything."

 

"There's the guy in metal stuff who poked me. Well... one of the two. One of them's... melted. The other I think is just cut in two!"
Ihra seems... awkwardly optimistic to help.

Rineth buries his face in the dirt, groaning.
