Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The figure closes the book as the Chimera looks down, glancing up at the Chimera before opening the book again to read.

After a while, the figure yawns, before deciding to take a nap in the gardens.

 

It lets out a questioning chirp before glancing one more time and leaving.

 

After a nap, the figure gets back up, dusting themselves off before heading back to the library, seeing if anything's changed and heading back to their old spot.

 

"Mmm..."
Crystal makes a sound like he's trying to decide how to answer.

I just watch.

 

There's a note on the desk and three dozen Ethereals seeming to be waiting for them nervously.

"Well...?"

Rineth follows suit, remaining silent.

 

The figure walks over to the note, reading it.

 

"Well, Nilarq said I was good."
He just says, optimistically.

 

"Unidentified beings are considered threats in the library. Since you were not notified of this, you have been let off for 48 hours.
-Archivist Emerald"

"But do you think you're that good?"

 

The figure takes the note and puts it away, deciding to go back to reading in the library.

 

"...Not really."
Crystal says, meekly.

 

The spirits still seem to be watching them uneasily.
"U-um... a-are you okay?"

Linoa sighs.
"He said that you lacked self confidence." She groans.

 

The figure looks up, then shrugs, before going back to their book.

 

He thinks for a second.
"Well then, I guess I am."
He says a bit more cheerily.
"Or, do."
He smiles.

 

"Where are you from?"
"Your silence... concerns us."

"Well, then... Try that again."

 

The figure simply gives a peace sign, not even looking up.

 

Most of them leave, but a younger looking spirit tries to check the title of her book.

 

The spirit finds it rather hard to read, since the cover is face down, but they can just about see a strange runic language on the cover.

 

Furthering its attempt, it phases through the desk to try and get a better look.

 

The spirit almost gets a good look before the figure moves the book away, keeping it hidden in their cloak and looking at the spirit from under their hood; probably confused.

 

"I wanted to know what book it is." They mumble, still trying to get a look.
