Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well, we don't have long. Maybe you could play with Sgavrinn? He's gotten antsy since we stopped exploring for a couple weeks."

 

"I guess." I say, holding my hand out for Sgavrinn.

 

Sgavrinn nuzzles it before setting Ragnyon down.

...he then knocks you over darting out of the portal room.

 

I catch myself, rolling into a standing position.

"It's strange, but I can't help but be a little nervous about this...thing, happening with Artemis." I say, looking for Sgavrinn.

 

Sgavrinn's happily waiting for you in the hall.

"Artemis? Aj is worried about you for some reason. You're okay, right?"

 

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just making sure Abigail is alright before I head back. Katie said she was going to stay a bit longer to keep Abigail company, though." Artemis explains.

 

"Well, whenever you're ready, I guess."
Crystal says, ignoring the previous statement.

"Oh. Well..."
I look at the spines or covers, or anything that indicates specifically what they're about.

 

"Okay. Hopefully you and mom won't be long. Aj's getting worried and he's scary when he worries."

Sgavrinn seems to expect you to come up with a game to play, wagging his tail.

"I was ready hours ago. I don't wake up early for nothing." She replies bluntly.
"Okay, dome up."
Dome goes up.
"So... how much did you do with Nilarq?"

Most of them are storybooks, some are compiled documents, others are theories with clearly lengthy explanations.

 

"Aj's not that scary." Artemis says, laughing slightly.


I summon a ball in my hand, throwing it for Sgavrinn. The ball bounces rather high, going far.

 

Sgavrinn takes off after it, and a minute later, returns with a now-moss-covered ball.

 

I hold out my hand.

"Drop it." I say, smiling.

 

He drops it into your hand, already crouching to go after it again as he looks at you expectantly.

 

I clear the moss off, before throwing the ball hard and far, before summoning the watch of true time temporarily just to check the time.

 

"Some spear techniques, notches in armor, elements..."
Crystal thinks.
"It wasn't really long until I got ahead of myself..."
He admits.

I take the nearest book supposedly consisting of compiled documents.
"Thanks."

 

Half hour 'til.

You hear something crash in the distance before Sgavrinn returns with the moss-covered ball.

At least moss isn't dog slobber...

 

"What did you break?" I ask, concerned.

 

"Remember why we have armor notches?"

"Three days outside the library before I teleport it back." Emerald says, the other books returning to the shelves.

He looks guiltily at you, but you can't see anything down the hall that's broken, and Sgavrinn both seems fine and has nothing stuck to him.

 

I sigh, cleaning the moss and throwing the ball for Sgavrinn again.

 

Same thing. He goes, there's a crash, and he comes back with a moss covered ball.

 

"So weapons get stuck which leaves an opening."
Crystal says, confidently.

"Noted."
I say, finding a seat in the library and cracking open the book.
