Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"If I were to base it on looks, I'd say that's the material used to make Draconian armor."
I state to Crystal.
"Let's test it then!"
Crystal makes a larger hammer out of his left hand, and swings it to hit the side of the top of the block.

 

I finish eating my food, taking the cinnamon heart with me being unable to eat it. The waitress returns, taking my plates and clearing away the pig bones.

"Welp. What do you want to do?" I ask Ragnyon.

 

Barely a scratch.

Throwing up is both her action and apparent answer.
"U-urgh... go back... palace..."

 

Crystal proceeds to, like before, blade-ify his hand and set it on fire, trying to cut through.

 

This time, he only makes a den on it after softening the metal. It's only a scratch before.

 

"Ew." I say, grossed out, getting up from my chair.

 

Sgavrinn plant-breaths the bloody goop away before heading out of the dining hall.

 

"Wow..."
"Targeting flesh or the head would be better during battle."
I state the obvious, but Crystal accepts the advice anyways.
"Assist me on this, please."
I half-ask and half-command, as I go close and try lifting the block, and Crystal helps me.

 

I follow alongside Sgavrinn, looking around once outside.

"So...thought of what you want to do yet?" I ask.

 

It's so light, you only need one hand to lift it and the pedestal.

"Go rendezvous at the other palace?"

 

"Well, that's a plus."
Crystal thinks for a moment.
"Let's try it on the black block!"
Crystal says, excited, and going over to the black rock, as I take a better look at it.

 

It's unlike any other material you've seen, though part of you swears it looks familiar.

 

"I guess? I was going to give it a day to get everyone ready." I say, shrugging.

 

"Could always meet back up with Rineth and decide which one you want to explore first."

 

"Ready?"
"Yeah."
I say, a bit of suspicion and expectation in my voice as I move up to the block, trying to lift it up with Crystal's help.

 

"I'd rather not be the driving force here. I think the group should decide on where we should go, not just me." I say selflessly.

 

It's waaaaay too heavy to lift.

"Well, you can still take a quick look at each dimension. Wouldn't hurt, would it?"

 

Crystal tries longer, but I stop him.
"Wait. I think this is what Kyle might've been donning when we fought."
"Wait, when did that happen?"
"I took a lesson while you were off... doing whatever."
"Did you beat him?"
"No, not even close."
"Aww..."
"But how was he wearing it..."
I take a better look at the block.

 

It looks rough, mostly unrefined.
Whatever it is, it's strong enough without needing to be worked much.

 

"How'd you get to fighting him anyways?"
"Well, I saw that he was on the list for trainers, so asked if he could teach me."
"Oh, I forgot! Nilarq suggested I train with another person, I should probably get to that."
"I'm fine if you do, I feel like we made at least decent progress today, and you should get some experience fighting by yourself."
"I'm going to the list, you gonna come?"
"I think I'll do some reading."
"Oh-kay, if you wanna I guess."
Crystal detaches, and darts off to the list once more, while I walk to the library.
