Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Something like that. Though, you specifically may be able to help her as well. Light may trigger some regeneration, but nature magic may provide some stimulus. She's of the Sage element; as long as there's light and she's not on fire, she'll probably be fine. Though, I'd get your friend awake. Anyone seeking to smash the seal can likely outmaneuver a single guard."

 

Artemis looks over me and thinks of the best way to wake me as fast as possible.

Artemis kneels down beside me and kisses me lightly; my eyes suddenly crack open and I leap up, Shadow Katana appearing in my hand.

I turn to Artemis; she winks at me. I re-sheathe Shadow Katana, "So what's the plan?" I ask in a manner unfitting of someone who's only just awoken.

"You need to stay on guard, I know how I might be able to heal Ihra a little faster." Artemis says sweetly.

"Alright, I'll make sure nothing goes near her or you." I say, my eyes beginning to glow lightly.

Artemis' hands and eyes begin to radiate green, and four large green flowers raise around Ihra. They bloom, letting out the same glow Artemis has; it flows toward Ihra.

 

The crystal absorbs the energy, turning from a golden color to a transparent lime green tint.

 

Artemis focuses her power on supplying energy to the flowers, and subsequently Ihra. The flowers glow bright.

Artemis' eye twitches a little, and she seems a little unstable on her feet, yet she continues to supply the energy toward Ihra.

I teleport around; keeping an eye out for danger.

 

Once it turns a solid green color, it doesn't seem to absorb any more energy.
"I wouldn't tax yourself that much. The seal's regeneration is slow; do remember that she's otherwise dead. To undo death whilst avoiding necromancy takes a decent amount of time."

 

The flowers shrink back into the earth, and Artemis falls to the ground, exhausted.

I teleport next to Artemis and offer a hand, which she takes. I help Artemis back onto her feet, "Don't overdo yourself like that; you'll end up draining everything you have and dying. I don't need to deal with more dead girls on my conscience." I say to Artemis.

"Sorry...I just wanted to help. If her mother sees her like this then...well...we're both worse than dead." Artemis says, shivering slightly.

"I have that covered. She won't lay a finger on you, don't worry." I say reassuringly, smiling.

 

"I'm not sure... we could go to Nyme. However, I wouldn't want you or any of the other draconians to come. And first, we need to stop the Purified Drakonshade."
"Did someone mention a Purified Drakonshade? Can I see it?"
A girl wearing a short, dark purple dress and what seems to be a black cape appears behind Hythania.
"Oh great... Idala, this is too dangerous for you now."
"Come on Eras, I can't just stay here forever!"
"*sigh* Idala, at a time like this, you can't-"
"It's not like I'm too young. Yes, I know about the draconian who is younger than me."
"How-"
"The statue."
*sigh*

"I wouldn't be so sure. One of the nicknames she obtained in an extremely technologically advanced dimension was Terminus, due to her destroying several planets. Your friend seems overconfident."

"If she's able in combat, I don't see an issue. If you won't allow her to go, chances are she'll sneak out and go anyways."

 

"Overconfidence is killer; however I know of a place unreachable to all but a certain species. She wouldn't be able to reach us without help; help that doesn't exist in this realm." I say.

"Do you think Ihra ever thought her mother was dead, only to reunite in that technological dimension and have the truth revealed?" Artemis asks me.

"Well I don't know, mayb-" I suddenly get the reference, Artemis grins, "Nice one." I say, smiling back.

 

"I don't think Ihra's ever been very far from her mother. She's extremely protective of her."

 

Artemis and I smile at each other, high-fiving.

"Jokes aside, I'm sure if Ihra's mother was to actually make it to my realm, she wouldn't last long. Something I'd forgotten when I mistakenly took Ihra there." I say, a slight sadness in my voice.

"What's your backup plan from there?" Artemis asks with concern.

"Well...I guess there's one other place we could flee to." I say, staring Artemis in the eyes.

Artemis shakes her head fearfully, "We're not going back there, shadow or not it's dangerous."

"That's the plan. We survive longer than she does; possibly getting her trapped there." I say, "Though I still doubt she could even enter the realm in the first place, so we'll probably not need to go there."

Artemis still seems a little shaken about the concept, I try to calm her.

 

"Fine... she can come too when we leave the Void Palace. I'll go and ask-"
"Jukin about the reason why a Pure Drakonshade exists? Maybe because of the high amounts of travel through the Void?"
"It would take more than 10 times travelling through to another world."
"What about the darkness generating in the Void? And the fact that beings have been passing through the Void, back and forth, sometimes without fully going through, several times?"
"WHAT?! SOMEONE THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO TRAVEL THROUGH THE VOID NEAR OUR WORLD SEVERAL TIMES?!"
"AND they went through from around the same locations. That makes the situation a bit worse."
"WHO IN A SANE MIND AND NOT BEING ON HYTHANIA'S MUSHROOMS, sorry Hythania but your mushrooms are sometimes known for making people insane, WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS?!"
All you hear from Hythania is muttering.

 

"Unlike Ihra, her mother isn't a demiplant. She also has a failsafe way to scout; she can bend time. Accelerate herself, slow the rest. Cut foes in half by bending time through them so part of them is faster than another... Darkness does nothing to her."

"That sounds like the four... and..."
Xephyr's eyes widen.
"Mistress."
She grits her fangs.
"Please let it not be mistress..."

 

"The dark power is likely caused by her. The beings passing through the Void could be the other four... though I don't know why they would go to another dimension."

 

"Oh, then... it'd be unlikely. It's not very much like them to get distracted and chase after another target. Still, if mistress is near, and...
You said this place is in the Void?"
Xephyr shivers.
"Uh... people may want to evacuate..."

 

I summon a dusty pocket watch in my hand. It seems to be made of a blue crystal, the clockwork shines gold through the transparent crystal.

"I'm sure I can deal with her time trickery." I say, spinning the pocket watch. It suddenly stops, facing straight up with it's gold chain static. It begins to move clockwise in a ticking motion.

"Where did you get such an artefact?" Artemis says, staring at the watch curiously.

"I've done my fair share of exploring before I met you and the others," I say, "It was quite an ordeal getting this, and I don't intend to break or lose it; not that it can be broken. If things get out of control, I'll use this as my failsafe."

"Why don't you use it to speed up the healing process of Ihra? Surely, if it's the watch I think it is, you can control time in certain areas?" Artemis asks.

"Time is a fragile thing, and misuse of such an item is what tore apart a lot of its previous users," I explain, "Surely you would know that Ihra's fate is sealed. Trying to mess with time to avoid such things causes a lot of problems."

I throw the watch up, and it freezes in midair. The watch suddenly falls with great speed, before flying back up and to my hand.

"Though for those who know time and fate, they can make great use of such an item." I say, de-summoning the watch of true time.

Artemis looks at me, "If I were to be killed by Ihra's mother..." She says, "Then could you...?"

I nod. Artemis smiles.

 

"I might evacuate them later, but the safety of the Fellakans is my first priority."
Hythania says, "She has a point though. If something powerful is nearby in the Void, it would be a good idea."
"I will evacuate, but I have to find and stop that Drakonshade first."

 

"Not finishing your sentence isn't hiding anything."

Vei appears in front of you both.
"So, the lady seems to be innocent; but you? I feared I shouldn't have trusted you."
Her twin-blades erupt with so much energy, they push both of you backwards a bit.
"Give me one reason I shouldn't break you where you stand."
Her broken horns are glowing intensely.

"If you consider one of my homeworld's deities, my former mistress, powerful, then yes, something powerful is relatively nearby."
Xephyr composes herself.
"Well... you said Drakonshade first? What say we beat Nyre to it?"

 

"Hmm... yes, Nyre could be a problem. Luckily, he hasn't seen me summon one, so he can't do something like that, unless he somehow controls the Pure Drakonshade. And it would be better to get rid of the actual Drakonshade first, as the actual one happens to be pretty much fearless and is completely insane. As for Nyre, he would have to have a few of Hythania's mushrooms before he became as bad as the real one."
Hythania glares at me. Idala giggles.
