I nod in agreement.

"Actually, have you any planned destinations left in Xlentia's fortress?"

 

"I was hoping to find a graveyard, actually." Mortius says chillingly.

 

"Graveyard? That's interesting. I have not heard anything of a graveyard here. As far as I know, none of Xlentia's servants actually die. They only lose their physical body."

 

"I have allowed many of the dead to move on to the spiritual realm. Perhaps they feel they still need to serve Xlentia, and shall only move on when they are no longer needed?" Mortius theorizes.

 

"I mean as in their souls physically cannot move on. During my visit to the lab, I took a quick scan of the area and found out that most of the soldiers and guards in the fortress replace their soul with a soul ore or something. It is basically a physical object that their soul is in, so they can technically just be revived over and over again, just with different bodies." I explain, "I've also heard that the spirits in the library don't move on because of how engrossed they are in the books."

 

"I'm going to ask Xelentia a question, before I get to the training area, actually. Do you want to come with?"
"...Sure, I'll just stick with you."
"Alright."
I fly, trying to catch up to Xelentia.

OOC: Well, not really. 'Revive' as in the way a zombie gets back up if you don't kill it correctly.

 

"A soul crystal, you mean? Soul crystals allow their users to preserve their soul, and if put within a construct or golem, they can possess it to 'live'." Mortius asks.

 

"Kind of like you, they show up on their own accord. Taking every child out of city limits is also ineffective, at that."

 

"Well...I don't want to be responsible for any children going missing," Gaia says empathetically, "I guess I'll have to leave."

 

She seems to be lazily walking about, so it's easy to catch up with her.
"Hello, hons. You smell like desert."

"I'm sorry about this. If we could control it, we would. On the contrary, I hope you have a nice day." The guard offers, trying to lighten the mood.

 

"It's quite alright, I understand you don't want to threaten the lives of your children," Gaia says, before putting her hands together. A slight green glow seeps out from the gaps in Gaia's fingers, before she takes her hands apart. A green acorn rests in her palm, "If you could, please plant this where people may appreciate it. It shall grow into a strong oak tree."

Gaia offers the guard the acorn, smiling kindly.

 

The guard accepts the acorn.
"We will look for a suitable place. Careful about the hellhounds if you pass through the desert."

 

"They're no trouble, just a slight annoyance with how friendly they are." Gaia says happily, turning to leave.

 

The guards look at her awkwardly as she leaves, keeping silent.

 

Gaia changes back to her larger size, before changing to her air guardian form and flying off, back toward the location of the portal.

 

"Wouldn't be surprised if we smelt like ash, too."
"Yeah."
Crystal speaks out my forehead.
"We went through the portal with the 'The Wandering Myth' sign. There was a cool fire city and strange unicorn-people."

 

There's nobody at the portal anymore.

"Ah, so you found them without me showing you. Well, glad you like exploring. I figured you'd need something to do while I rest up, and the library isn't for everyone."

 

Gaia heads through the portal, changing her size to her smaller one beforehand, satisfied with her visit to the other realm.

Once through the portal, Gaia leaves the portal room and changes back to her larger size again once in the hallway.

 

"How many are those portals open to?"

 

She can sense Xlentia in the hallway, Mortius in the garden, and Tenebrae still in the library.

"Your group and/or anyone who fits." Xlentia states. "Intended for your group, though. Did Rineth not show yet?"
