Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

OOC: I thought it was Egg Horn, which sort of makes sense. Have to re-read the book series which revolves round dragons again (can't remember the name).

"Not much actually. The Void Palace and the area around resonates with my power, which changes it to be... more hospitable. There aren't any physical barriers though."

 

She reels back, looking at you in terror.
"I'msorryIdidn'tmeanitpleasedon'thurtme..."

"Hopefully mistress doesn't find it... Err, sorry I keep calling her that. It's kind of a force of habit after several dozen millennia..."

 

My hands turn to sharp claws.

"You'll make a nice meal!" I say evilly, my eyes glowing red. I loom over Ihra ominously.

"You're going to make her faint again..." Artemis says with a disappointed tone.

 

She hisses at you, hitting you in the face hard with the side of her staff.

 

I take the hit, yet the staff doesn't move me at all.

I let out a louder hiss, sharp wings erupting from my back, "Feisty one we have here!" I say, making a grab for Ihra with my right hand.

Artemis puts her hand to her head in disappointment, sighing, "I'll let you have this one..." she says; seeing through my ruse.

 

She spits at your hand, stepping back.
Her eyes are slowly turning red.

 

I hiss, severing my hand. A new one grows in it's place.

I plunge my hands through dual portals; they appear behind Ihra and seize her.

A wooden hand taps me on the shoulder; I summon a bag of popcorn in it. The hand takes the popcorn back to Artemis, she watches the battle intently.

Shadow Katana is unsheathed by a third arm. I hold it above my head; pointing it toward Ihra.

 

"It doesn't matter... and besides, it might not be a good idea to call someone that powerful by their true name..."
"Speaking of true names, ERAS! I SWEAR, IF YOU COME NEAR MY GREEN PILLAR, I WILL KILL YOU!"
"Oh yes.... I forgot about her..."
"You FORGOT that you-"
A telepathic link seems to be exchanged, as for a few minutes everything is strangely quiet.
A woman in black robes with lots of strange silver symbols appears.
"I... I didn't know... oh, Idala was right... that strange statue Daras gave her spoke to her a few days ago."

 

Her eyes flash red, and she collapses on the ground. Wisps of light rise from her.

"You... monster..." A twisted version of her voice rings out.

She reforms above you, axe glowing intensely. Her red eyes shine through light and darkness.

You have a fifth of a second to react to an axe moving straight for the middle of your face.

"I feel like this isn't the time for introductions... but what exactly... just..." Xephyr looks dumbfounded.

 

I point Shadow Katana straight upwards, toward Ihra. I give an evil, sharp-toothed grin.

Artemis seems invested in the action; seldom looking away to get popcorn.

 

"This is Rythania, who is both an impossibly old witch and Daras' wife."
"So, he's alive and safe?"
"I thought you of all people would have found out first. Idala was always saying that her statue was speaking to her."
"I would never have believed her. She's too young."

 

The axe comes down, out of her hand. You're cut badly down the shoulder.

She can't stop herself, and her red eyes look at the blade in terror.
She screams, voice slowly returning to normal as her eyes lose their red glow entirely and she slumps over the hilt of your blade.

"Daras'... Right, he used to be under you. Um... uh... Why is she here while he's... uh..."
She's not sure how to respond.

 

"I didn't allow them to live in the same place. It was one thing to have Daras betraying me in the Lost Kingdom, but having his wife, and eventually his daughter, in the same location?"
"Admittedly, the situation might have been worse if I had stayed in the Lost Kingdom... just make sure he comes back to see us more often."

 

I snap out of everything, my hands returning to normal; my wings disappearing; my eyes losing their glow.

I drop Shadow Katana as Ihra falls through it; I can only stare in wide eyed shock.

"Aj! You weren't meant to actually hurt her!" Artemis shouts, running over.

I can't seem to say anything; I can gaze upon Ihra's body with shock, and grief.

"N...no...th...this wasn't m...meant to happen." I struggle to say, my breathing becoming erratic.

 

"He has a daughter too? I hope they're not all trying to side with Nyre. Does his daughter live here as well?"

You now have a rather bloody sword. She opens her mouth to speak, but nothing comes out.
All she manages to do is roll on her side so she's not laying on the hilt.

 

Shadow Katana returns to its sheath.

"nonononononoNONONONONONONO!" I scream, tears running down my face.

Artemis wraps bright green vines around Ihra's stab wound, kneeling down.

"Aj, I need you to empower her; that way it might stop the bleeding if you can replace the damaged area." Artemis says calmly, looking to me.

I just stand there in terror and shock, looking at Ihra; tears flowing from my eyes.

"Now, Aj, time is of the essence."

 

The vines slow the bleeding significantly.

Some of the blood on the ground is being vaporized and absorbed by the staff's crystal.

 

I disappear, and Ihra seems to turn a little darker.

Ihra's bleeding stops, and Artemis removes the vines. Where Ihra's wound was is now darkness.

"Excellent; she's no longer in danger of bleeding out." Artemis says calmly.

 

She reaches for her staff... kind of.
She can barely open her eyes; her reach is way off.

 

Ihra's arm turns dark, and it grabs the staff with precise accuracy.

"How do you feel, Ihra?" Artemis asks sweetly, with a touch of concern, "Aj's going to help."
