Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

There only seems to be one tree, but the firepit still seems to have wood.

 

Onyx dashes over to the firepit, wary of the weather, collecting up enough wood to make a small but sustainable fire.

 

The beast remains the only available source of fire.

 

Onyx takes the wood back to the cave, looking to see if the candles are still lit.

 

The candles seem to have burnt out.

 

Onyx seems rather disappointed, sighing as she heads back out to the beast with some of the wood.

"uhm, could you light these on fire purrlease?" Onyx asks kindly.

 

The beast carefully sets the end of one of the pieces ablaze before laying dormant again.

 

"thank you!" Onyx says happily, before running back to the cave, moving the cover far enough away so she doesn't set it on fire.

Onyx sets her small cave campfire alight, before using one of the sticks to cook the bitter fish, hoping to make it taste better.

 

After a little more cooking, the bitterness won't go away. It's less noticeable, but still there.

 

Onyx sighs, before remembering something she saw in the Shadow Palace kitchens.

Onyx decides to go outside again, looking for any herbs or plants on the island; even checking the house.

 

There are six kinda of herbs, none labelled.

 

Onyx decides to try small samples of each one, curious.

 

One has a bit of a warm flavor, another a slightly bitter, then a slight spice, something that tastes a bit like rosemary, a hint of balanced flavor, and something that seems pretty much tasteless.

 

Onyx takes a bit of the herb that tastes like rosemary, not wanting to steal from the house, before heading back to the cave and sprinkling it over the bitter fish, taking another bite.

 

It tastes okay now, sort of flavorless, but filling.

 

Onyx cooks another fish from her pile and eats it, before looking outside to the sky to see if the weather has changed much.

 

No change. Also, still no Sapphire.

 

Since it isn't raining, Onyx decides to go out and play on the beach, digging holes and building sand mounds happily.

 

The construct seems to keep a silent eye on her, the day passing.
A giant gryphon construct seems to be flying overhead.

 

Onyx notices, and fearfully changes her form back to her cat one, running back into her cave as quickly as possible while trying not to be seen.
