Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I was bound for a year, held over a spike pit. Hunters thought I was a normal beast, but they released me after a year of hanging upside down."
She looks pale.

Her eyes slide open, and she looks sick.

...And she is.
Roughly half your bed gets melted as a result.

 

"No! My bed! Why!?" I would scream, if I wasn't being controlled by Artemis.

"Are you feeling alright Ihra? What's wrong sweetie?" Artemis asks in a sweet, kind voice.

I walk over with a glass of water, Artemis takes it from me.

 

"I'm sorry... the Abyssal Root prison as it was used in the wars seems like nothing compared to that."
I look away from the red pillar and towards the green pillar.
"There are some things which always hurt to remember... anyway, would you like to look at one of the other pillars or would you like to go into the main part of the palace?"

 

"I... I'll just follow you to the palace."

"That smell, it... *cough-hack-spit*
...uhhlllll."

 

"What smell, Ihra? What's wrong?" Artemis asks with a concerned voice. Tough vines loosely wrap around Ihra, giving a green glow; the vines sprout flowers along them, they have a variety of colours.

 

"...Blood." She groans.
Ihra seems to integrate with the vines, attaching them to her hands and tail. She seems to be siphoning a little bit of energy from them.

 

Artemis sighs, snapping her fingers. I seem to snap out of her control.

"Use Katie's helmet you stole and clear out this area of blood." She says in a commanding voice.

"Wha- Hey! How do you know I stole her helmet!" I say with an annoyed tone.

"Your holding it in your hands you idiot." Artemis replies, staying at Ihra's side.

I look down at my hands, and sure enough, a blue scaled helmet belonging to the aforementioned oceanic Guardian is there. I slip it on, a blue glow surrounding my hands.

I raise my hands, both they and the helmet glowing blue. Blood begins to seep from the ground, forming a large sphere; the smell is rather potent now.

A large red flower forms below the sphere of blood, and I pour the blood into it; the flower expanding to bear the weight of the fluid.

The flower pumps the blood deep into the soil before withering away.

"Katie wants the helmet back, and also wishes to drown you." Artemis says, her hands losing their green glow.

I laugh, "Tell her "Good Luck" then." I say.

 

"Who?" Ihra mutters, sitting up.
She's starting to look less sickly.

 

"Katie, one of the other Guardians. She's a friend of mine; an oceanic Guardian." Artemis explains.

I take off the helmet and de-summon it.

"Artemis made a point of visiting the other four types of Guardian. She wanted to connect with the other sides of her kind." I say.

 

"How many types of guardians are there?"
Ihra stands up and roots herself. Plants grow around her.

 

Lazarus informs of this.

 

"There are five in total," Artemis explains, "Forest Guardians, my kind, who control nature and life; Oceanic Guardians, Katie's kind, who control water and the oceans; Mountainous Guardians, who control the ground and earth; Flame Guardians, who control fire and lava; and Sky Guardians, who control the air and clouds."

"You're missing one, Artemis; the sixth." I say.

"Shadow Guardians aren't true Guardians!" She snaps, "They're just stronger versions of yourself who inhabit the form of a Guardian!"

"But not just any Shadow can take the form of one." I reply.

Artemis ignores me, "Each Guardian uses their own type of weapon, and each have a special piece of equipment. Forest Guardians use Bows, Oceanic use Tridents, Mountainous use Blades, Flame use Claws and Sky use Boomerangs." Artemis explains, "A Guardian's equipment piece has very special properties, one of them being that the wearer gains a weaker version of their powers. Nature Gauntlets belong to Forest Guardians, Aqua Helmet belongs to Oceanic, Earthen Leggings belong to Mountainous, Magma Boots belong to Flame, and Angelic Robe belongs to Sky."

Artemis seems a little exhausted after explaining everything.

 

"Well... wait.
Another place? I got it."

You're forced to your senses, finding yourself back in the cave.
Vei's tomes are in a white ring behind her, spinning rapidly. She slowly floats down to the ground as you get back to your feet.

"I'm sorry, it was overexposure to magic. Your body is completely unfamiliar with being near it... that's going to need to change before I let you out."

"That's... a lot."
She looks bitter.
"Get used to this. I don't want to hurt you in self-defense."
Rineth is weaved from wisps from the staff's crystal.
"Glad you made it out alright."
"Well... yeah, it was rough, but... I'm alive."
"Good."

 

"Welcome back, Rineth." Artemis says, trying to hide her disdain.

"Ihra got zapped by her crystal, would you know why that is?" I ask Rineth curiously.

 

"It's always good when all of us present are alive isn't it."
I say with pleasure.

"Excluding AJ"
I mumble.

 

He glares at her.
"Why?"
"I didn't..."
"Never mention the name of who that crystal belongs to. He listens through it, watches you. Be fortunate he hasn't killed you already as he did me."
"And me."
"Me as well."
"Along"
"With"
"Every"
"Previous"
"Wielder"
"Of"
"Miznyana"
Ihra looks terrified.
"Why me...?" She whispers.

"Something like that." Rineth grumbles.

 

"Miznyana sounds like a cool name."
I say, casually.

 

"Aj, didn't you say you got stuck empowering a weapon one time?"

I shiver, "Ughh...don't remind me. Those years were terrible."

"Do you remember much about the influences and control you had over it?"

"Memories are foggy, probably for a good reason," I say, "Releasing the souls from Miznyana would be ten times as hard as releasing a Shadow, though. I think it's cursed."

I glare at 13, "I heard that; I'm sure Artemis wouldn't be happy if she knew your secret."

"Secret? What secret?" Artemis says, turning to me.

"Oh nothing." I say, grinning at 13.

 

"Observative."
I grin back.
"If it keeps her from killing me, I'd be great if you could just not."

 

"You won't be able to break that crystal. I... ugh. If I say it, I'll be erased."
"Rinethh..." The crystal echoes eerily.
"I tracee every thoughht... You hiide nothiing..."
He looks at the ground as if accepting death.
"I'mm not done withh you..."
The voice fades.
Rineth swallows hard.

Ihra looks like she's on the edge of tears.
