He's in a duel against a bow user.

She picks it up.
"Hulluh?" She mumbles.

 

I decide to check out how that's working out.

 

"You've done an excellent job, detective Alice. It turns out your case was linked to a lot of different cases, slave labour, kidnappings, murders, thefts, and many others. We've managed to eradicate a large number of gangs and save many lives from slavery, both labour and sex slavery, and find missing treasures all thanks to your amazing work. I highly suggest you visit the king and queen as soon as you can, there's a large ceremony planned for your amazing work for the kingdom." Yxun says on the other side of the line happily.

 

Pretty well, actually. They don't seem very... accurate.

Alice just pauses.
"Whuh thu hell is this?" She asks, clearly half-awake.

 

I continue watching, analyzing them.

 

The bow user can't kee range, Kyle hounding them constantly.

 

"A call to notify you of the amazing things you've done. The immense details in your report allowed us to easily track down the gangs, connect the dots in other cases and send out armies to sort everything out. It was all thanks to your amazing work, Detective Alice. You've certainly got a large reward waiting for you." Yxun says proudly.

 

"Nuh... whuh... whuhm... who... there we go... who is this?"

 

I keep watching, thinking about what's going to happen.

 

"Your boss, Head Detective Yxun." Yxun says.

 

The bow user pulls a fast one; they launch an explosive arrow which disorients Kyle, but Kyle immediatly bashes their tail flat, the howl of pain audible outside the dome.

"O-oh shit, I'm so sorry... you kinda woke me up. Why am I getting a call again?"

 

"Your work on your case was the start of a chain reaction that lead to many much larger unsolved cases being solved, saving the lives of thousands and reuniting many families who's mothers and fathers had been kidnapped and sold as slaves, as wel as other major things." Yxun says flatly.

 

"Oh. That's good. I still hope there's another reason I'm being woken up... three hours early." She grumbles.

 

"I'm assuming being awoken three hours early for a personal ceremony and large reward from the king and queen is enough reason for little perfect princess Alice?" Yxun asks.

 

"I hadn't eaten or slept in forty hours. I don't have time for bluffing or any other kind of shit." She groans.

 

"Well, if you want to show up the royal family, the thousands of people your work helped save, and the entire kingdom come to see you, go ahead for some extra winks in bed. Just don't whine nobody told you about it." Yxun says, annoyed, hanging up.

 

Alice peeks outside.
"Is my boss fuckin' with me or do I legitimately have a ceremony to attend?" She half-shouts outside.

 

"The King and Queen have personally requested to see you in an hour, Detective Alice. I wouldn't miss it if I were you." A guard says.

 

"Shit, she's not kidding. Where is it?" Alice asks, quickly donning her jewelry.

Upon seeing several battles already, I decide that I've had enough and look around for someone to challenge to a duel.
