Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The next person in line is called in as an earth guardian leaves, a mix of fear and relief on their face, leaving only one person left in front of Alice.

"Good luck." The fire guardian behind Alice says, smiling nervously.

 

"T-thanks..." She utters, trying to hold herself together.

 

Crystal just grin, proud of himself.
"So, I didn't hit you. Any tips for finding someone else?"

 

"Check the trainer list. I'm pretty low, but you can probably find someone else on another day. I'm the only polearm trainer here today."

 

"What's the worst thing that can happen to us," The fire guardian says, trying to lighten the mood, "Our request gets rejected and we leave? There's nothing to be afraid of really..."

 

Alice keeps quiet, looking blankly at her feet.
"...I hope."

 

"Where's the list?"

 

"Entryway. Can't miss it on the way out."

 

A Shadow practically sprints out of the throne room, looking petrified. "Next!" The guard calls, leaving Alice the next one in line.

"Ey up Alice. I think you've been waiting here the longest out of everyone. You lookin' forward to seeing the king?" The guard asks, smiling.

 

"Alright. Thanks."
Crystal goes down the stairs, trying to find the list.

 

"I-I was..." She utters, barely mustering the courage to enter.

It's huge; right above the doorway.

 

"What's there to be afraid of? You're a Shadow just like me. No reason to be afraida anything." The guard says happily.

 

As Crystal looks at the list, I walk over.
"Hey, what's that?"
"The trainer list."
"Hm."
I join Crystal in looking at the list. It's almost funny looking at the size difference between us.

 

"Heh... I hope I don't join the shadow from last week in the afterlife here..." She utters, entering.

There's a list of names under different categories of weapons, with Emerald's name under "Grandmaster."

 

The guard blocks her.

"Have a bit of patience, eh? I understand you might want to get this over with, but you still have to wait your turn." The guard says, his voice slightly sterner.

 

"S-sorry..."

 

I observe the names under a category that might be broadswords, while Crystal looks at the names under the presumed 'polearm' section, due to that's what Nilarq called himself.

 

A short while later, an air guardian walks out.

"H-H-Holy shit..." She mutters, walking briskly to the right.

"You're up. Good luck, Alice." The guard says, pushing the door open a bit more for Alice's convenience.

 

Greatblades are probably the place to look.

There's only three other names under the Polearm section...

Alice enters, trying to hold herself together, kneeling.

 

The door closes behind Alice, and an odd sight is in front of her. Instead of two red eyes piercing the darkness, there are four. Shadow Stephanie sits in her throne beside me, looking down upon Alice.

"Speak." Shadow Stephanie says, her voice booming.

"What is your request?" I ask, my voice ringing true.
