Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Alice feels herself being lifted, carried up to her bedroom and laid in bed; covers being drawn over her.

 

In the morning, she checks the date, hopeful.

 

It seems to be the 12th of Xice today, the day before her meeting.

 

Alice smiles, marking the 13th on the calendar before heading out and going to the dining room again.

 

The dining hall is, as to be expected, busy in the morning hours. There are a few seats available around mostly empty tables, though.

 

She glances around for Abigail or Katie, but sits at one of the mosty empty tables.

 

Neither of them seem to be present, Alice almost fooled by a water guardian with the same hairstyle as Katie, but much taller. A waitress soon walks over to Alice.

"What can I get you?" The waitress asks happily.

 

"Waffles with butter and syrup and raspberry tea, please." Alice says, seeming almost equally content.

 

"Alright! I'll bring them to you when they're ready." The waitress says with a smile, walking off.

A short while later, a plateful of waffles with butter and syrup and a cupful of raspberry tea is placed in front of Alice, the plate and cup decorated with pretty blue designs.

"Enjoy!" The waitress says happily, before walking off to take orders from other people.

Satisfied, Alice goes back to her house and spends most of the day trying to figure out how she's going to go about her request for a job.

 

Around the middle of the day, there's a knock on Alice's door.

 

She gets up and opens it, a sizeable stack of papers sittong on the table.
"Hello?"

 

A letter and small package floats in front of Alice, the letter concealed within blue paper with a fish-shaped wax seal.

 

Alice takes both inside, sitting down before reading the letter.

 

The letter reads:
"Dear Alice,

I thought I'd get you something special for your meeting. I hope you like it! Maybe this will help with you getting your job? Probably not, but you'll hopefully look better!

Best of luck!
Your friend, Katie."

 

Alice beams, opening the package.

 

A jewellery box lies within the package, and the box contains a blue necklace with a navy blue crystal in the shape of a water droplet attached to it. A bracelet and a pair of rings are also contained within the box, the bracelet in an ocean design with a fish leaping from the water at the top, and the rings are shaped like jellyfish, their tentacles forming the ring.

 

Alice puts on the jewelry, looking at herself in a mirror.
"Well... I don't look so ragged now!" She says happily to herself.

 

The crystal on the necklace has a soft glow to it, and strangely, Alice doesn't seem to feel any sort of coldness anymore. The coldest she can feel is hardly uncomfortable or shiver-inducing.

 

Alice smiles.
"Never had a charm before..." She says happily, checking the envelope and package for a return address.
