Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I read another book.

 

"Thank you!" Alice calls, waving.

-later-
Alice wakes up after a few-hour nap, then calls the check-in line.
"Hello?"

Nilarq makes a hand gesture, and the dome collapses, leaving a ring.
"Go ahead." He says, patient.
Nilarq turns to you.
"I like his courage."

This one's chock full of antidote recipes.

 

Crystal runs to the weapon room, looking for a normal-looking spear.
"He was made well, obviously. He's a pleasure to be near, really."
I respond.
"You're not really going to leave him, are you?"

 

"Hello, Miss Alice. Was there something you needed?" The feminine voice at the other end of the line asks.

 

It's easy to find a non-elemental.

"I agree. No, I am giving him his duel. His conviction is too strong for me to turn him down." Nilarq laughs.

"Um, yes... I was wondering what I'd need to do in order to request a job at the palace in front of the king." She states, trying to remain calm.

 

I decide to return to the training area to observe if anything interesting is happening.

 

Seems a crowd is gathering to watch a draconian and Thirteen.
Crystal's upstairs, grabbing a spear.

 

Crystal nabs it, trying to find the place that the frost spear was.
I smile.
"I'm talking about the part where he gets a different trainer if he doesn't get a hit. You like him, though. What're you planning?"
I ask, suspiciously.

 

"Well, you'd need to arrange a meeting with him first by sending in a letter. Due to your current...predicament, no payment will be necessary, simply a letter stating why you wish to meet with him. You'll then receive a response either giving you permission to meet with the king, or telling you why you were rejected. If you are given permission, then a date and time will be specified when you can meet with the king. On that day, you are to give your letter to one of the guards outside the throne room, and they will let you meet with the king when he is next available, if he's currently seeing someone." The voice explains.

 

"I'm the bottom of the ladder. I'd put a good word in for him at the top of the pyramid." Nilarq says, content. "That rock has some serious potential."

"I have the letter ready. Where do I submit it for review?" Alice asks.

 

"Hand it to one of the guards outside your house, they'll take it to be reviewed." The voice responds positively.

 

"Alright, thank you!" Alice says, hanging up.

She looks for a guard outside, holding the letter.

 

A transparent guard waits outside her house, noticing Alice exit.

"Something the matter, Miss Alice?" The guard asks, concerned.

 

"I have a request to speak to the king. I was wondering if you or one other could review it." She says.

 

Crystal runs back down the stairs after putting the frost spear back.
"Huh. And you're pretty good."
I notice Crystal running over.
"Well, time to hold up your end. Good luck."
I smile, walking off, and Crystal arrives, holding the spear like he did at the beggining of training.
"Is everything good?"
Crystal asks.

 

"Well, I personally am not in a position to review requests, however I can take it to be reviewed if you wish." The guard says respectfully.

 

"One more thing; you know I won't hold back, correct? I will treat you like a true foe, and you will die, be it with or without scratching me. If you can accept that, then yes, everything is good."
Crystal notices a crowd watching as the dome reforms.

 

Crystal stands still, relaxed, looking at Nilarq like he'd be slowly breathing in and out if he had lungs.
"All magic?"
Crystal clarifies.

 

I decide to watch this.

 

"Please do." Alice says, handing the guard the letter.
