Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I guess it sort of is, unless you have a high paying job." Katie says, smiling.

 

"What else? Any other guesses?"

"Well, if the king is kind enough to give me one, I might be able to do that!" She says happily. "But I dunno if what I'm good at is needed..."

 

"Fire and electricity?"
Crystal guesses.

 

"What's your talent?" Katie asks, intrigued.

 

"Close, and yes. Vulcan instead of fire." Nilarq compliments. "How about vulcan itself? You already know ice."

"Uhm... I'm observant. I can write transcriptions of stuff." Alice says. "Not much else."

 

"Hmm...I'm not really sure what the palace has, but that sounds like a good skill for things like investigations," Katie says, "Like, writing down what a criminal says or something."

 

I approach one of them.
"Why is everything...torn up?"

 

"I still need to know what I'm applying for... maybe if I could tell the king my skillset he'd figure out what I could do... or not."

"Seige party decided to tear up pretty much anything anyone armed was." They reply.

 

"I think if you just told Aj what you're good at, he'd sort out a job for you." Katie says happily.

 

"I see."
I make my way to the training area.

 

"You think? I guess I'll try... Thanks for buying me clothes, too." Alice says happily.

In the training area, it seems to be untouched, business as usual.

 

"No problem! Should we head back to the palace, then?" Katie asks with a smile.

 

I takes few scetches and then make my way to the library.

 

"Yes, please!" Alice says, excited.

Things are still being replaced in the library, a swarm of scribes all working on reprinting the destroyed books.

 

Katie starts heading back through the city, looking up at the palace looming over it. There's an odd sound, followed by a crash as Alice passes an alley, but Katie doesn't seem to notice.

 

Alice does.
She glances towards the alley, trying to stay close to Katie, though.

 

"Vulcan?"
Crystal asks.

 

"Lava."

 

A knife lies in a pool of Shadow blood, a dark crystal barely visible beside it.

Katie creates an icy aura around her hands, small flakes of snow falling from them and freezing the ground in small patches as she walks.

 

Alice telekinetically swipes the crystal and the knife, concerned as she watches her back.
