Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Spirits? I thought living beings only had one spirit."
I randomly question.

 

"I meant metorphorically, as in it would give her energy." Artemis explains with a sweet voice.

 

"Oh yeah."
I say, feeling like an idiot.

 

Artemis pats you on the head, smiling.

 

I take a little step, minorly uncomfortable.

 

Artemis shifts her attention back to Ihra. A flower grows at your feet.

 

"It says that a meteor strike happened..." Lazarus pauses.
"A century ago."
Lazarus checks outside to see if any non-human things exist.

 

I crouch down and observe the flower.

 

The flower is coloured red; as you crouch down, more flowers begin to appear around you and the first. Artemis' hand faintly lets off a green glow.

 

I stand up, and smile at Artemis, even though she's not looking.

 

Artemis looks back and smiles sweetly.

 

She does so, but looks at it a bit funny.
"It doesn't taste like water... did you just give me poison?"

"Oh great. That literally crosses out everything I'd thought it might be. Well, crap. Euhh..."

The zoo exhibits are empty. At least there's no trombones.

 

Before the tail goes past, its back legs appear and cause a few boulders to fall.
"Actually, we might not have time for that. Go through and detonate the crystal when I say..."
A few seconds pass.
The body becomes smaller as the tail gets nearer.
"...NOW!"
I run through and under part of the tail, which isn't near the tail tip but the tip is definitely coming closer.

 

The monster implodes, hide and all.
The resulting dark energy is absorbed by Xephyr whose eyes glow dark for a while. Her scales seem a little brighter, a bit brighter tone.
"Now we teleport out?" Her voice echoes through the walls of the cave.

 

"No, this is the way to the portal to the Void Palace. It isn't that far."
Sure enough, around the next bend in the path we were taking are some strange pillars. There are fourteen pillars in a small hall. At the end is an extremely flat and surprisingly undamaged wall.
"This is the portal. You can only use it if you have knowledge of certain words in the Dark Script... and if you actually manage to find this place."

"Xu bsf opu ifs, cvu jo uif Wipje Ihmm." (We are not here, but in the Void Hall)

The pillars start glowing with dark auras. The wall at the end of the small hall is glowing faintly.

 

"I've never seen such a stable portal to the Void. Also, hope you don't mind, I kind of borrowed your knowledge of Dark Script."
She seems to levitate behind you.

 

Artemis looks a little offended.

"No no, it's simply a healing elixir of sorts. It's very good for you; and helps get your energy back." She explains sweetly.

 

"What's elixir?" She looks confused (and just as perky/happy/whatever-the-heck-it-is as she usually is).

 

"Well, that doesn't matter. Just make sure that you don't get a few of those words mixed up. There are some words which are too similar. Anyway, stay right behind me. This place is meant to represent the Main Hall of the Void Palace. Going past each set of pillars pulls you into the Void Palace more. When the wall starts opening into a portal, it's actually just you shifting from this world to the Void Palace. To anyone else, you would just be fading from here or appearing in the Void Palace. Stay close to me or portal won't bring you through, even if you have already passed some of the pillars. Which you won't want to do, since part of you will be trapped on the Void Palace side and you will be slightly transparent on both sides."
I start walking past the first pillar. The dark aura starts swirling around both pillars.

 

"Well, at least it's only half as scary as watching mistress etch a rune of decay..."
You can feel her cold breath behind you.
