Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yeah, maybe you could get a sword too! People might even mistake you for the wandering swordsman!" Katie says, laughing too.

 

The ice shatters all the way down, the earth spear bashing Crystal backwards again.

"Hehee! I won't go that far. Besides, not many people here know about the story."

 

"Well, maybe you could make your own story. You could wear, say, a black and purple robe, and carry around a dagger!" Katie suggests.

 

"Nah, I'm no fighter." Alice sighs.

 

"Oof."
Crystal gets up.
"It was worth a try."

 

"Oh...well, if you want to try and get a job here, you'll probably want to get a new set of clothes anyway." Katie says, a little disheartened, but remaining positive.

 

"Told you, earth beats ice."

"Yeah. I'll have to scrap together enough for some, though. Maybe the palace will buy a few things from me? I really don't have much..."

 

"I'm sure you could ask Aj for some money or something, since you're a protected person." Katie says, smiling.

 

"T-the king? H-he'd probably kill me for that! I'm only protected since the gangs are harassing me..." She says, nervous.

 

"Hmm...maybe I could ask him? I'm sure he wouldn't mind lending me some money, and I could give it to you after!" Katie says happily.

 

"I-is that legal?"

 

"Well, he'd be giving the money to me. I'd then just generously give the money to you, since it would then be my money." Katie says, smiling.

 

"I-I guess that might work..."

 

"Well, let's go! No time like the present!" Katie says happily, heading back over to the Shadow working the skateboard rental.

"Can you store my skateboard again? Alice couldn't really get the hang of it." Katie asks kindly.

"Oh, sure thing! Shame you couldn't get the hang of it." The Shadow says to Alice, taking Katie's skateboard and heading into the back room, before returning empty handed and holding her hand out for Alice's skateboard.

 

Alice hands over the skateboard.
"Thanks for the board. You never know until you try." She says happily.

 

"Yeah, don't knock it until you try it!" The Shadow says happily.

Katie turns to leave, heading toward the elevator nearby.

 

Alice hurries to catch up with Katie.

 

Katie smiles at Alice once she catches up with her, heading into the elevator and turning the dials to rather simple looking positions.

 

Alice looks at the dial positions, curious.

 

The dials form a sort of square, pointing to one another. Katie turns the centre dial to the right, then back to it's original position, and the pair are teleported outside of the throne room.

Katie walks over to one of the guards by the door.

"Excuse me, but is the king currently in the throne room?" Katie asks respectfully.

"No, Miss Katie. I believe he's currently in his gaming room with Miss Artemis." The guard says formally.

"Oh, alright, thank you!" Katie says, heading back to Alice.

"Looks like Aj's with Artemis in his gaming room right now, I'm not sure if I should interrupt." Katie explains.
