Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Thank you, hon. Take care of yourself." Alice says happily, proceeding to eat.

 

The waiter smiles, leaving Alice to eat.

 

When finished, Alice stretches and leaves.
A silver coin is left on her seat...
Alice heads home.

 

Once the waiter returns to collect the plates, he notices the silver coin, picking it up and observing it.

 

It's not a shadow minted coin. It has two etchings; one of a vortex on one side, and one of a ring centered among twelve other marks.

 

The waiter seems rather confused, but slips it in his pocket anyway and continues his job.


There's a knock on Emerald's door in the library.

OOC: I'm just assuming Emerald is in her room. If she's not, then just imagine her name's been called.

It opens, Emerald nowhere in sight.

 

The fire guardian that knocked on the door seems rather distressed, looking around the room to try and see if Emerald left a note on where she could've gone.

 

"Yes?" She calls out, still not visible as various artifacts sort themselves and documents write themselves.

 

"Uhm, Emily, a few of the other Guardians, i-including myself have seen a g-ghost in the library. W-We were hoping you knew something about it, or at least could do something." The fire guardian says nervously.

 

"Relax, they're just spirits who cling to life. There are thousands here; some still read."

 

"W-Well, we kn-know of the spirits, b-but this one seems d-different," The fire guardian says nervously, checking behind her, "I-It's not like the others."

 

"What's it like, then? Zoz'ot not pass on?"

 

"Excuse me?" The fire guardian asks, confused.

 

"Nevermind. What's it like?"

 

"W-Well, she doesn't seem to have any eyes, yet she approaches the other guardians like she knows them, before disappearing when they're not the p-person she obviously thought they were. Occasionally she'll try to lead one of us out of the library, b-but none of us ever have. She often just looks around, though, but whenever you try to look at her it's l-like she was never there to begin with." The fire guardian explains.

 

"Never mind. Someone else, that isn't me, can explain shadows to you."

 

Emerald pauses.
"That explains the summoning of the shadow army... I believe that may be the spirit of your queen's form."

"Well, ramp up the haste. You better believe this put me in a piss poor mood." She grunts.

 

"She d-died?" The fire guardian asks, surprised.
