Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Alice heads to the dining hall, weary.

 

"No." I hand Xlentia my notebook, enlarging it so she can flip through the pages easier.

It accounts for the events since my arrival of the group up to now.
"Please do not destroy it."

 

The guard opens the doors to the dining hall once Alice arrives, the smell of the food which had been growing on her approach hitting her like a brick. The dining hall is quite full, though there are still a few empty spaces on some of the long tables. Waiters and waitresses hurry around, carrying various plates of different foods to the tables, placing them in front of various Shadows and Guardians.

 

She looks at it, lazily turning a page every minute or so.
"Damn it all..." She growls.

Alice looks for an empty seat, trying to remain somewhat secluded.

 

I wait for her to finish.

 

"I want to see this shadow. Asap." She groans.

 

Luckily, there's quite a few empty seats on one of the tables that nobodies sitting near, enough of a private area to be somewhat disconnected from the crowds. A group sits further down the table, but they're far enough away to not be a problem.

 

Alice waits, trying not to attract attention.

 

"He is currently in his realm, healing. However, I have great reason to believe he will return here once his healing is done." I say, "Also, my complements to your library."

 

"Thank you... and I hope you're right. I want to thank him... and maybe smash him."

 

Eventually, a waiter walks over to Alice.

"What would you like for breakfast, Miss?" The waiter asks, smiling, "You can order anything you like, and the palace chefs will be happy to cook it for you!"

 

"Well, I have reason to believe everyone in the group does as well."

 

"What do you mean?"

"How about waffles?" Alice asks. "With tea?"

 

"Waffles with tea," The waiter mumbles as he writes on his notepad, "Would you like anything on your waffles, and what kind of tea would you like?"

 

"Butter, syrup, and raspberry for the tea? Something to offset a busy day." Alice asks, trying to relax.

 

"Mmhmm," The waiter mumbles, writing on his notepad, "So, Waffles with butter and syrup and raspberry tea? Would you like anything else?"

 

"That's all, thank you." Alice says.

 

"Very well, I'll bring you your food when it's ready." The waiter says happily, walking off.

Alice is left to wait at her table, though it seems a lot of other people are waiting too.

 

Alice starts spinning a silver coin on the table, bored, before pocketing it and entering a meditative state.

 

A short while later, Alice's meditative state is broken by the sound of a plate and the smell of waffles and tea.

"Enjoy!" The waiter says happily, putting the raspberry tea next to the plate of waffles. The waffles look delicious, cooked perfectly with just the right amount of butter and syrup. A shiny silver knife and fork rest beside the plate.
