Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Alice slowly gets back to her feet and follows, then sighs.
"If I had information, you'd be here a while."

 

"Well, that's certainly a promising thing to hear, albeit slightly disappointing. If you're hungry after your rest, then you can always go to the dining hall for a meal. It's just down there, I'll notify the guards to let you in." The official looking Shadow says, pointing down the right hall from the entrance as he heads into an elevator, turning the lightly glowing crystal dials.

 

Alice chuckles.
"You got me. Black Dagger's sent two dozen former living members at my doorstep. Keyword former."

 

As I seem satisfied with my investigation, I drift down to ground level and check the status of her eye that wasn't open during our initial talk.

"Well..."
Crystal thinks, and it takes him a couple of seconds to get an idea.
"Could the gold have been... destroyed in the battle?"
Crystal suggests nervously.

 

"Black Dagger, eh? I've heard of them. They've always seemed like a dormant problem, though if they're killing of people like that then action must be taken. Thank you, Alice," The official looking Shadow says, turning the final dial in the elevator.

The pair are transported to a large hallway, doors lining each side evenly spread apart.

"Here we are. You can have one of these bedrooms on the right," The official looking Shadow says, walking through the hallway, past a door with an 'Occupied' sign on it, choosing the door further down from it, "Guards patrol these halls during night, though if you wake up before then and need anything, just go back to the entrance. If you need me, ask for Jacob."

The official looking Shadow, presumably Jacob, opens the door to the bedroom for Alice. A warm air and cosy smell wafts from the bedroom. A four-poster bed resides within, comfy duvet and soft looking pillows on top of a fluffy mattress. A door to the left with a 'Bathroom' sign on it almost fully explains the room behind it. A window takes up some wall space right of the bed, the curtains shut. A warm, unlit fireplace with red glowing coals resides on the far right end of the room, far enough from the bed to be a fire hazard. A vase rests on a bedside table, a few purple flowers resting in it.

 

Not to push you, but when do your classes end?

 

Your new name sounds somewhat familiar.

At this point, I come down from the ceiling.
"Dominus Terrae, King of Perniciosa and God of Destruction." I say, bowing as a gesture.
"Do you happen to have any memories of the battle?"

 

It's open.

"What battle?"

Band's starting.

"Thanks." Alice says, going in to rest...

In the morning, Alice steps outside, yawning.

"Huh?" She grunts. "What's all this crap about a battle?"

 

"Apologies. What was your last memory then?"

 

Ooh right you had one of those shadow people named after Arty. Ooooh. Cough cough I mean...

Artemis has a mimic?
I must haiku this.

 

A couple of guards guard the elevators at either end of the hallway, but other than that, the hallway is empty and quiet.

Artemis is a Forest Guardian, not a Shadow. She's actually heavily inspired by the Greek goddess Artemis (Hence the usage of a bow as a weapon, learning to survive on her own in her forest when she was younger by hunting animals, ties to forests and nature, etc.). Artemis is also probably one of my favourite greek goddesses.

 

"Some freakass cornered me in my palace. Is Tirion okay?"

She moves to an elevator.
"Is now a suitable time to leave?" She asks, bowing.

 

Yesss, Artemis is the best. I actually like Selene a little better, but she's kinda dead so...

Gonna try to stop the OOC now, sorry. ;-;

 

"If you wish. You have access to the dining hall for breakfast, however. I wouldn't give up that unique opportunity if I were you." The guard says, heading into the elevator and turning the dials for Alice.

Glad to see another fan! (Though I really should read up more on my Greek Mythology since I mostly only know about Artemis and Zeus).

*OOC over*

 

"Tirion? Pardon me, but I havn't had the pleasure of meeting him yet." I say, jotting down notes, "On another notes, do any of these names ring a bell: The Hive Master, Ihra, and Vei?"

 

"Yes, sir. Thank you."

"All three. Damn the first one."

 

"Then, I assume you will not be pleased to hear that you worked metaphorically hand in hand with The Hive Master."

 

"Like hell I did... wait...
...you mean, you lot just whipped me? Ugh..."

 

The guard turns the dials, and eventually Alice is teleported back to the left hallway from the palace entrance. She can see the exit doors just down the hall, around a slight curve, though the thought of breakfast hangs in her mind.
