Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well, I'm glad my realm could be blessed with such wonderful beings." Lian says happily, continuing to walk over the ice.

 

Sophie keeps her thought hidden.
"Yeah. Anyhow, ocean's just ahead."

 

"Alright. Would you like to resume control once we're there, Miss Sophie?" Lian asks, oblivious to the hidden thought.

 

"Please."
Lian can barely see the rippling surface a few minutes away.

 

Lian speeds up his pace, arriving at the water a little quicker before returning control of Sophie's body to its owner.

 

Sophie just bends down and fills the bottles.

 

Lian assists, giving Sophie extra arms and hands to work with.

 

It doesn't take long, and after the bottles are filled, Sophie bends down to take a drink from the ocean.

 

Lian doesn't interrupt, simply helping Sophie stay alive.

 

Sophie seems a bit off-balance, almost falling in as she tries to get back up.
"T-take over again..." She groans.

 

"Very well, Miss Sophie." Lian says, taking over control of Sophie's body and walking back to the hideout.

 

She seems to be unconscious by the time Lian makes it back.

 

Lian searches the hideout for some kind of bed to lay Sophie down in.

 

There isn't a bed anywhere, or anything remotely considered soft.

 

Lian seems a little confused on what to do, before an idea strikes him.

Lian lays Sophie down on the ground, appearing next to her and pulling a dark segmented crystal out of his pocket, before twisting it. The crystal begins to glow.

"This is servant Lian, requesting transport to the Shadow Palace." Lian says in Shadow tongue.

"What for, Lian?" A voice responds in Shadow tongue.

"My mistress, Sophie, has fallen unconscious, yet she has nowhere to sleep. I was thinking she could rest in some of the guest bedrooms of the palace." Lian says.

"Very well. We'll locate you and open a portal the the bedrooms." The voice responds, before the crystal darkens.

A short while later, a dark portal opens just outside the hideout. Lian picks Sophie up and heads through, stepping through a portal into a hallway of doors in the Shadow Palace. The portal closes behind Lian as he carries Sophie to a door, before opening it to reveal a luxurious looking bedroom with a warm, yet unlit, fireplace providing the room with a low light and warmth. Lian lays Sophie down in the four-poster bed, covering her over before leaving the room and waiting outside.

 

Hours later, Sophie stirs.
"The hell...?"

 

There's a muffled sound of birdsong coming from a window in Sophie's room, the window itself letting in the light of the realm of shadows. Brighter light comes from under Sophie's door.

 

Sophie gasps, jetting up and opening the door... or trying to.

 

Lian waits outside, next to the door.

"Oh, good morning Miss Sophie!" Lian says happily once Sophie opens the door.

 

"H-how the hell did I get here?" She asks, mangled armor uncloaked.
