Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

It accidentally swats you with the branch as it lays down to chew on it.
"There are others here, you know. More than just my group. If you see one of them, be weary. If they think you're with me, they'll cut you down."

"Any other Void creature that can breathe fire? Mistress can't, so the size matches, but it wouldn't be her... I hope."

You can't, but everything spontaneously unlocks itself nearby.

"Well, apparently yelling at your unresponsive physical body lets me communicate with you wherever you are. Uh... notice anything in particular strange? Anything you might be able to use to escape?"

 

A dark aura forms over Artemis' sleeping body.

The darkness grows, and pulses; a flash of red erupts from within. Then, suddenly, the darkness shrinks, then explodes outwards. I'm left standing in its wake.

I blink twice, seeming to regain my grasp on the physical world. Noticing Artemis is asleep, I kneel down and kiss her on the cheek.

"Did you miss me?" I say, turning toward the party and smiling.

I didn't know how to respond. Kind of expected one of the others to.

Ihra and Rineth left, Xephyr left, thus none of the characters I narrate are near you.

 

OOC: Oh, that's kinda awkward... .-.

I cough awkwardly, before summoning a small device in my hands and turning it on; sitting down.

I begin playing with the device, sounds can be heard from it; I appear to be playing some sort of game.

Artemis turns in her sleep; my expressions change from happiness to frustration as I focus on the game.

 

"Everything without warning just unlocked around me? I don't know how to escape a coma?!"

 

"No, they mainly have dark abilities, as the Void is a dark place. Since there are few things this large, this was likely a Feligstone Serpent. Which basically means, the monster was a gigantic snake with lots of firepower."

 

Artemis wakes up, her eyes glowing green as they open.

She looks over at me, and says "Aj, stop playing Super Dragon RPG, we have important business to attend to."

"Yeah but I'm about to finally defeat Xeradoes! He's one of the really tough bosses!" I protest, eyes affixed on the device.

"You can save your game and come back later, I had another one of those dreams; I need to borrow your powers." Artemis says, walking over.

I completely ignore Artemis and keep playing with the device.

Artemis swipes the device from my hands and turns it off. "Now is not the time for games, we need to contact someone." She says with a strict tone.

"Ugh, fine." I say with an exhausted tone. I empower Artemis, and she puts her hands to her head; psychically searching for someone...

 

"I don't think it's a coma. You hear me, right? I'm currently yelling at your motionless body."

"So it's another problem. The people probably blame us for these troubles... I hope nobody's tried to attack Ihra."
"What?"
"Holy sh- Ihra, I'm glad you're okay..."
"Rineth kept me safe."
"I can tell."
"We're only passing by, unless you need help. We just came out of a forest. There were a bunch of wounded people, so I healed most of them. I didn't heal the one who poked me, though. He kind of melted."
"Ihra..."

OOC: Well that's not meta...

 

OOC: It's so meta the plot of Super Dragon RPG hasn't even been written out fully yet, it's a game in development.

 

"Contact someone? Who is this someone?"
I say, skeptically.

 

"Like, no breathing? How am I talking to you?!"

 

"You're mumbling, most of what you say is hard to make out. You're breathing, though, don't worry.

Hey, anyone in this pseudo-dream of yours? Also, do you have the braces?"

 

OOC: So you're were at the final boss of an unfinished game?

You realize that means that the "final boss" probably isn't actually the final boss?

 

"Xephyr and Ihra," Atremis says, "I had a vision they were in danger, I need to warn them of the oncoming threat."

"They appear to be close to each other already, this saves some time." Artemis says, her glowing eyes staring at seemingly nothing.

OOC: I was fighting one of the toughest bosses, I think you're meant to lose and get a cutscene since it was early game though.

 

"Wounded people? In the forest? No... no this isn't right... No, that isn't possible. Ihra, you might want to get out of here. Somewhere nearby is something you will not like."

 

"I don't want more people hurt! I can hold my own!"
"And I'm here."
"And Rineth's here!"

Xephyr rolls her eyes.
"She's got plenty more tricks up her sleeve. As long as she stays awake an conscious, she'll be fine, master."

 

"Hopefully... the entrance into the mines is through that cave. The mines quickly go into a maze. I have a feeling that the Feligstone Serpent is close by. We will likely reach it before we get to the portal but we might be fine if we run into the middle of its body. If we run into the head, that's not good news."
I start walking towards the entrance to the cave.

 

Ihra summons and jams a crystal in the ground. Xephyr looks surprised.
"Recall crystal is an interesting workaround."
"'Not good news' seems to always have my name on it as of late."
"Leave the comparisons to your mother."
"They sound funny though!"
"Are you sure she's going to be alright?" Rineth smirks at Xephyr.
"Just... come on."

Ihra darts off to catch up with you. Xephyr stays somewhat close.

 

I rub the place where the dragon smacked me, shooting it a glance. "That's pretty much what every draconian with whom I met said."

 

"Heh, clearly you haven't met any of the four corrupted ones. That's far from a bad thing; I assume you've got plans with your time in existence."

It's oblivious to your frustration.
