"Are you alright, Miss Sophie? You seem rather tired." Lian asks.

 

"You know what nocturnal means, don't you?" Sophie says, half-sarcastically.

 

"Oh, sorry Miss Sophie, I didn't know." Lian says apologetically.

 

"Never told you, so don't apologize." She says, yawning again. "I'll go out with you. Nothing messes with my puppets here."

 

Lian opens his mouth to protest, before shutting it again and sighing.

"Very well, Miss Sophie." Lian says submissively.

 

"Nope. What were you going to say? I'm not firing you over anything. Hell, I should fear you - you're the one keeping me alive. Pissing you off would be stupid."

 

"It's not my place to speak, Miss Sophie. I am under your command." Lian says submissively.

 

"Then I command you to finish speaking." Sophie says bluntly.

 

"W-Well...I um...uh..." Lian seems to be having trouble speaking.

 

"Why can't you bring yourself to say it?" Sophie asks, worried.

 

"I...I don't want to be treated like a puppet..." Lian says, his voice fading as he speaks.

 

She goes to the library then.

"At least there isn't a chance that I'm going to step on an arm."

 

"You won't be. I am a puppeteer. I don't want living things to be puppets - you're your own being."

The library doors are wide open, scribes everywhere on the ground floor.

 

"Thanks, M-Miss Sophie." Lian says, his voice happier than before.

 

Is anyone in the library?

 

"Puppets aren't alive. Therefore, you aren't one, and shouldn't be."

The sound of metal scratching against metal can be heard outside.
"Huh?" Sophie mumbles, opening one eye.

"Nothing here. Move on." A robotic voice utters, footsteps leaving audible.

She grabs a common tongue book that hopefully isn't about biomes.

 

Upon reaching athe section, you randomly pull out... a book on plants.
Oh boy.

 

Lian leaves a trail of darkness, blacking out his path as he goes to see the sound and voice's source.

 

A robot draconian leads a hunting party away from the pit.
