Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Lian hurries to Selene, getting on as fast as he can.

 

Sophie seems to match his pace.
"Selene, go."
Shaky liftoff.
"Abigail was impaled during the simulation and woke. Guards needed to restrain her."

 

"Was that the commotion when I was trying to get the elevator to work?" Lian asks.

 

"Yes. Aqui leaked to me that she's the only one aware of the simulation, but the others don't like it much."

 

"I've overheard the simulations in the vats are impossible to tell different from reality, until you wake up. People have been restrained in there for long periods of time, the simulations to them lasting anywhere from a few days to hundreds of years," Lian says, "I heard water guardians are the trickiest to fool, though, which would explain things."

 

"Yep. They superconcentrated the water guardian's tanks."

 

"I hope they're alright coming out of it. They might fall into a coma if it's too strong." Lian says.

 

"I shouldn't have looked, but whatever. If you think it's odd you only get to know half the story, you'll hate Commander Amethyst." Sophie says. "Now, we're actually going to Milla's hideout."

 

"Should I wait outside?" Lian asks.

 

"No, it's in a desert. That'd be stupid for a shadow."

 

"Oh, um, could you provide me with some form of shade then? Or perhaps let me empower you so I don't burn up?" Lian asks sheepishly.

 

"I thought you were supposed to be empowering me, to help me with typical living behaviors."

 

"That's if you need help with them. I thought it best not to be so invasive of your body, Commander Sophie." Lian says formally.

 

"One, just call me Sophie. Two, I need help, else I wouldn't have had a shadow sent with me specifically for that reason." She says, trying to calm down.

 

"Oh, uhm, wouldn't you want a more powerful Shadow with you then? I'm just a servant." Lian admits.

 

"You live. Good enough for me."

 

"I...live?" Lian asks, confused.

 

"Are you alive or undead?" Sophie asks, blunt.

 

"Alive. I don't think Shadows can be undead." Lian says clearly.

 

"Then you know how to live and can help me do the same." Sophie says bluntly.
