Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I bet she can help me make heads or tails of what happened. I just have a perspective from the roof... which isn't much."

 

"If you take me back to the library, I can re-open the portal." Lian says.

 

"That's precisely where we're going." Sophie confirms.

 

"Excellent." Lian says happily, waiting out the journey.

 

Upon landing, Sophie puts her armor back on and heads towards the library.
"Make the portal, I'll only be a moment." She calls from the doorway.

"SHHHH!!"

 

Lian runs into the library, putting a hand to his head and one out in front. Eventually, the air begins to distort, and a portal back begins to open.

 

Sophie returns with a book, stepping through.

 

Sophie finds herself back in the portal room, Lian joining her shortly after, immediately walking into the elevator and turning the dials.

 

Sophie silently follows as usual, the book only somewhat cloaked.

 

The pair are soon transported to a metal room, familiar looking metal door at the end with a keypad and screen to the side of it.

Lian walks over to the keypad, pushing a few buttons before a voice sounds from the screen, a Shadow's face on it.

"Purpose you're here?" The Shadow behind the screen asks.

"I've brought Commander Sapphire here to see Eve. She wishes to learn her perspective of the fight." Lian replies.

"Hm. Very well. You are to wait out there, only Commander Sapphire is granted access." The Shadow replies, before the screen loses it's glow and the doors open.

"I'm not allowed in, but Eve should be at the end of the room." Lian says, waiting by the door to the robotics lab.

 

Sapphire nods, uncloaking her armor which is thorned, twisted, bent, and clearly seen better days.
"Thanks, Lian."
She walks on through, following Lian's instructions.

 

A sign above a door at the end of the lab reads: "EVE: STATUS: NEUTRAL. BODY REPAIRING." A keypad resides on the side of the door, and an earth guardian slides over on a wheeled chair and inputs the code for Sophie once she sees her at the door, opening the doors to Eve's chamber.

 

Sophie enters.
"Miss Eve?" She asks timidly, worried about her armor's appearance being offputting.

 

Eve looks up, her eyes and cheeks wet with tears. Eve sits at a simple metal table on a basic metal chair in a room with glass panels on it's left and right sides, and another door at the far side. Eve's normal armoured body seems to have been replaced with a more human one. She wears a t-shirt with a cog symbol on it, simple light grey trousers and black boots. On the table are various coloured and highly detailed drawings of what's easily recognisable as Stephanie.

"I-I failed her...I failed everyone..." Eve mumbles to herself, looking back at her drawings, staining a few with her tears.

 

"H-hey, I... I'm sorry... I... guess now's a bad time..." Sophie sighs, stepping back.

 

"W-What did you want?" Eve asks through sobs.

"Don't let your guard down. If she wakes up and she is not Ihra, well, you're gonna have to make some very loud screams."

 

"This better work..." She mumbles under her breath.

 

"Trust me, I haven't. I'm just hoping all will go well."

 

"I, um... wanted to a-ask if you wouldn't mind telling me why Emily told me to run for my life... um... I-I mean, Emerald."

Xlentia's eye slowly opens as a deep groan echoes throughout the room.

"W-who... rrgh..." She weakly utters.
