"They have shadows, guardians, and the strength to get away with it- but why give up Xlentia...?"

 

"You mean...they have some of my kind on their side?" Lian asks, fear in his voice.

 

"Are you sure she's not up yet?"
"Pretty sure..."
I respond, checking her eyes.

 

"Unfortunately, yes. The experiments all his captured subjects are put through are unspeakable. It's... horrifying. They created a few omnielemental draconians, and... they even look like tortured beings. All they know is anger and bloodlust... it's disgusting." Sapphire says, frustrated.

They're still shut tight.

 

"H-How many do they h-have?" Lian asks, fear in his voice rising.

 

"One is enough... but I've seen a dozen."

 

"Just...a dozen Shadows? Only a small amount?" Lian asks, slight relief in his tone.

 

Pulling out my rag, I walk over to the lid and gently brush the cloth against the eyelid.

 

"A dozen captured. Add a few zeroes for cloned."

It twitches tighter, albeit weakly.
There's still time before she wakes.

 

"Oh-Oh...n-no..." Lian says, becoming short of breath and looking like he might pass out.

 

"They're all low-tier. Relax." Sophie says. "Nothin' doing with the shadows."

 

"S-Still...a lot of low tiers can create high tiers," Lian says, though he seems to recover a bit, "I-I don't, w-want to..."

Lian seems to have trouble speaking.

 

"Don't worry about it, then. You don't have much to fear - your queen is able to recover from an attack that could crush most of your realm." Sophie adds. "Your kind may be seen as genocidal demons, but at least you don't have a ruler so corrupt many would love to see your kind extinct."

 

not even here to apply or anything but how tf do you get up to 1000 pages and still not finish the adventure

 

"Well...she is of godlike status among other lower Shadows," Lian says,"Care for her was immediate, none of us will stand to let the queen come to harm."

"As long as there aren't an army of Shadows on the enemies' side, we should be alright, though..." Lian adds.

With that, the thing steps back into Crystal, and he wakes up.
"Hey, what happened?"
"You fainted after the fight. Xelentia' not too far away from waking up by now."
I comment, still checking on Xelentia.
"Oh... okay."
