"Do you know when she will wake up?" She asks you.

 

"So, what's it like being a shadow?"

 

"It's certainly a double edged sword sort of existence," Lian says, "One one hand, you're able to see in the dark, move quickly in it and generally be stronger with darkness, on the other, you can barely stand light unless you have a host. On my few trips to Earth I've had some pretty close shaves with dawn. I'm quite lucky to be alive."

"I'm just glad I was born after the human/shadow movement. I'd hate to be constantly being trapped to contracts. I've had a few, and they're pretty work-intensive," Lian continues, "At least working for the king I have a bit more free will."

 

"Not too long."
I say.
"Well, for you, maybe a day."
"I could speed it up, but the question still stands."
The thing says.
"Do we wanna risk her being at better health than if she just regenerated on her own?"

 

"I guess floating orb. What's your name by the way?"

 

"Would your king allow you to work for me?" Sophie asks, slight movement as Selene lands somewhere.

 

"I-I'm not sure. You might need to ask him yourself for that. Though I am currently working for you, as I was tasked with." Lian says, keeping his balance..

 

"Just... it'd be nice to have someone alive to talk to. Milla's greed concerns me..."

 

"Is she too being controlled?" Lian asks, before realizing his mistake, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't ask."

 

"No, she's liberated. And don't be sorry. Stealth ops are my specialty. It's how I could tell you everyone's recovering... though your queen is recovering in pieces." Sophie sighs.

 

"You...sneaked into areas you weren't supposed to?" Lian asks, oddly alright with prying information this time.

 

"Said 'view only,' and that's all I did." Sophie says flatly.

 

"Oh. It's just, most areas are secured or blocked off to certain people for a reason. I would be fired if I was caught somewhere I wasn't allowed," Lian says, "I think you'd be treated with the same level of punishment."

 

"Well, I wasn't fired. No 'no entry' sign. I didn't see the issue." Sophie says. "Walk in, walk out."

 

"So...where are the elites?" Lian asks, curious.

 

"Same place as the royalty, one room over."

 

"Are they, uhm, in the same situation?" Lian asks, a little worried.

 

I look up from my journal, but nothing more.

"Let her regenerate on her own. If it turns out she is still Xlentia, she will wipe you guys out, as the hardest hitters are off doing whatever."

 

All are next to dead, hold the queen. She's gonna be scarred or pissed for quite a while after recovery... if it happens. Her chest isn't... there."

 

"So...they're in those tubes? R-Really?" Lian asks, shocked.
